Customer Questions & Answers

I am so upset. Why do I have a white milky finish all over my patio? I wished I had read the reviews before I bought.

Followed the directions. Nothing looks good. My patio looks worse.

From January 2013 to the present, I successfully used this product on three different occasions. I made sure I was mindful of the weather, that I had a good understanding of the instructions and took my time doing the prep work prior to using this product. The results were fantastic... Since I had a large area to cover, I divided the project into smaller sections and applied the sealer a section at a time. This gave me the opportunity to observe the curing process and correct any mistakes. This takes a little more time to apply the sealer overall but the end result is worth it.

I am really upset with the finishing of BEHR wet look sealer

I prep and dye my concrete days ago . After applying the first coat of BEHR sealer the floor was looking great, however after applying the second coat, I notice that there were several areas that look milky white . How can I solve this problem without having to strip my patio. BEHR please help me solve this problem. When I was buying the product this morning a customer told me that he has this problem and try to tell me not to buy the BEHR sealer but I did not listen now I am really upset.

How long did you wait before you applied the second coat? You need to provide that information. I use this product a lot. I put the first coat on, wait 12 hours, then apply the second coat with a roller. In areas where it might pool (cracks gouges) I soak up the excess with a paper towel once the surface is semi walkable (a few hours)

behr wet look sealer milky appearance

applied behr wet look sealer on to new concrete pavers today used a sprayer and then lighly distributed with a roller as per directions however it left a milky appearance. I applied in the morning in approximately 75 degree weather on dry pavers. the sun was shining though I didn't think it was that strong. the sealer cured very quickly and got milky in several spots. I saw other comments about this, and I am asking now what I can do about the situation. should I strip the milky areas and reapply? if I use the 992 behr concrete paint stripper will some of the baked in color of my concrete pavers be removed?
Asked by: Chris
You need to wait at least 24 hours for all the milkiness to go away. It takes a while to clear up. In spots where it pools, you may have to soak up the excess

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product It makes the difference when applied to surface. Make sure to apply it when the surface is cool otherwise you will have a milky looking concrete. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best wet look sealer Amazing product. I started this last night and was terrified when I came on here to look up a question with all the negative reviews. My floors look perfect now. I scrubbed my black slate then applied 1 coat with a cheap paint brush (new of course). This was applied to my kitchen and entry way floors total time with scrubbing 3 hours Pics enclosed. No horrible smells in my house either. Will tell everyone about this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product First. I use Behr for my painting needs and normally a good product. I have a stone mason that recently used this (4 gallons total) for a custom outdoor living area. Flagstone. They normally use a product from a stone yard but thought this would have the same effect. As time passes - the appearance is white hazy look. I don't understand and very disappointed in this product. They used it correctly and are subject matter experts when using this product. On another note - the stain/sealer for the arbor was wonderful! This stone sealer was horrible!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If it came out bad you are doing something wrong I never really like writing reviews but I read them all of the time. I bought this product with out reading the reviews while I was still in the store. After I returned home is when I wanted to see how others were feeling about the wetsealer. After reading nearly 20 or so reviews I was a little worried about the application. So for 4 or 5 days I just sat outside contemplating if I should take it back or not. After just reading instructions over and over, looking at the location of many unhappy reviewers and putting aside that most of them are only telling the partial truth, I decide to give it a try anyway. So here is my conclusion. Most of the people that are unhappy with the product are usually located in a very humid environment. If the humidity is high don't apply this product. The humidity will not allow the product to release necessary chemical reaction to dry properly. I would use a sprayer to apply the product with a very very light coating in small section no more than 6'×6' at a time. After you spray use a paint roller to even out the sealer on the applied surface.then move to the next section. This will prevent the surface from becoming over saturated with the sealer. To much at one time will make it to thick to dry property and this will result in a milky coat. I think some people here don't understand that this product has to go on very thin for absorption and drying properly. It also helps to live in an environment with very low humidity. I live in the northern California Valley so all we have in the summer is dry hot heat. If I lived in the San Francisco Bay area I wouldn't used this product. If it is August and I live in Florida I wouldn't use this product. Yes I am from Florida born and raised there so I know the humidity is high which I didn't understand until I moved to California. All I saying is some folks are putting this product on to thick because they want the best shine possible and they are ignoring the instructions. So they are mad. In short, application, location and patiences is needed to get the proper look you want. Take 3 or 4 days and thin multiple coats to get it right. I will attempt to attach an image if possible. Ok so I post this twice because I did it through the mobile version the first time. Pic below

Horrible product - after spending several $1000 on installing new patio pavers, waited until pavers were thoroughly dry. Applied this junk and wound up with white milky stains everywhere. Stains will not wash off. Now I have to pay someone to wash the deck with a solvent to remove this garbage and hopefully eliminate the stains. This product should be taken off the market! Not even worth one star.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stamped Concrete is now milky white Rolled this on stamped concrete that had been cured 30 days and cleaned. Weather was 72 degrees. Almost immediately the product turned milky white in many areas, over 70%, and stayed that way through the drying process. Now I will not apply a second coat, that will make it harder to remove. Terrible product.
