We applied this over the weekend. For the deck I had to purchase an additional gallon for my deck, the color was true. The paint in this color has to be mixed, the only color available without mixing is grey. The product is very thick, it is hard to apply to get it on without it partially drying, but it just takes practice. Again, the proof will be in how long it lasts. I have confidence in Behr products, we followed directions exactly, my deck is still bare, so nothing heavy for a week. The finish is nice, I included a pic...just so you know, this color is more of an orangey undertone, not the reddish I was expecting, but I actually like this a lot better!! OH if you are sensitive to odors wear a mask it has a VERY strong ammonia smell!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LindsayL Horrible Purchase- Peeling after less than a year
Like most people here- the deckover looked great after we first put it on! Loved it the first summer we had it. However, after 1 winter though, not so much. 3/4's of my deck is peeling- and not just small spots, large chunks that are 12 inches plus long and 4-5 inches wide are coming off daily. Everytime I go to wash it off with the hose, even more comes off. I'm highly disappointed in the product. I called Behr and unlucky for me, they can't do anything for me because I don't have the old cans I used last year as proof of purchse.
For the amount of time and money I spent applying it to my deck, I would hope it would have been better quality. I guess i'm stuck buying 6 more gallons this year to fix the mess, because stripping it off is a project I don't feel like tackling.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Marc Very good overall
I have three redwood decks in my yard. I used Behr's Semi-transparent stain for 15 years. Started switching to Behr's solid stain this year and enjoy the remarkable difference. Went to Deck Over on the neglected redwood. As good as solid stain but different. Important points I want to share. You are adding a new surface to the wood.it goes on thick. Best results I had were completely dipping a 6" roller in the bucket and rolling the excess off on a plastic mesh. Replace boards that have excessive deterioration. Some boards I was able to flip and have a good surface again. I recommend using solid stain on wood structures and redwood decks in good shape. Use Deck Over on older redwood. I used 2 1/2 gallons for one coat on an 18' x 12' deck. Second coat is important and will use less. Happy to see it cleans up easy with water.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Traveler Waste of time and money
Applied as directed last summer. After all, after spending all that time and money you don't want to have to do it again for a long time. It's already blistering. And that doesn't just scrape off, it peels off. Behr is going to replace the product, but not the labor.
Plus this shows and holds on to dirt very easily.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pepe Fantastic product
My deck wasn't in bad shape but had plenty of small cracks and remnants of a previous paint job. I gave it a good stripping with my belt sander and applied a few coats of the Behr. In short, it worked like a charm!
Be warned: this stuff is pretty think out of the can. Use a 1/2" nap roller with small back and forth rolls to work the product in to the cracks in the wood. Be prepared to get a second coat down as well.
Finally, I used the product with grit in it for traction. It does its job well but will catch dirt off your shoes. I went with a beige color that shows the dirt. Bad on me but a great product.

Bought 2 cans for 9 year old deck. I Chose a color much darker than the existing color of my deck. Terra cotta was a pasty white toned clay color. I had brought in a color to match but sales lady said deck over didn't match well and refused to try. I Exchanged terra cotta for darker barn red. I knew it was wrong when she opened the can . Got home ,let's just say lipstick red would be a more appropriate name for it . Unless I want to spar with the homeowners association, I have to pass on this one too. Wasted 40.00 plus gas and my entire afternoon and I still don't have any paint I can use. A couple shopping in the store warned us not to buy deck over so we can't say we were not told. This was my very first time returning any paint .

I prepped and applied exactly as instructions say approximately 5 weeks ago. I live in Upcountry Maui- the temperatures NEVER exceed recommended application temps, high or low, year-round. It looked great! 4 weeks later it started bubbling up all over the deck. Really nasty. Cracking and chipping can only be what lies ahead. The house is for sale and my big selling point is now a complete eyesore. I will have no choice but to give a buyer a credit to replace the whole deck. I am going to lose $5,000 by using $150. worth of this 'easy to use, miracle product'!
Just sick after seeing all the similar complaints on this site and many others on the web. Wow, guess I am not alone. I don't think any other Home Depot product reviews have more 1-star reviews than any other star reviews. Point being- THEY KNOW this is a terrible product that is costing buyers HUGE amounts of money to remedy, yet they KEEP SELLING IT.
