Like most people here- the deckover looked great after we first put it on! Loved it the first summer we had it. However, after 1 winter though, not so much. 3/4's of my deck is peeling- and not just small spots, large chunks that are 12 inches plus long and 4-5 inches wide are coming off daily. Everytime I go to wash it off with the hose, even more comes off. I'm highly disappointed in the product. I called Behr and unlucky for me, they can't do anything for me because I don't have the old cans I used last year as proof of purchse.
For the amount of time and money I spent applying it to my deck, I would hope it would have been better quality. I guess i'm stuck buying 6 more gallons this year to fix the mess, because stripping it off is a project I don't feel like tackling.

We applied this over the weekend. For the deck I had to purchase an additional gallon for my deck, the color was true. The paint in this color has to be mixed, the only color available without mixing is grey. The product is very thick, it is hard to apply to get it on without it partially drying, but it just takes practice. Again, the proof will be in how long it lasts. I have confidence in Behr products, we followed directions exactly, my deck is still bare, so nothing heavy for a week. The finish is nice, I included a pic...just so you know, this color is more of an orangey undertone, not the reddish I was expecting, but I actually like this a lot better!! OH if you are sensitive to odors wear a mask it has a VERY strong ammonia smell!

I have three redwood decks in my yard. I used Behr's Semi-transparent stain for 15 years. Started switching to Behr's solid stain this year and enjoy the remarkable difference. Went to Deck Over on the neglected redwood. As good as solid stain but different. Important points I want to share. You are adding a new surface to the wood.it goes on thick. Best results I had were completely dipping a 6" roller in the bucket and rolling the excess off on a plastic mesh. Replace boards that have excessive deterioration. Some boards I was able to flip and have a good surface again. I recommend using solid stain on wood structures and redwood decks in good shape. Use Deck Over on older redwood. I used 2 1/2 gallons for one coat on an 18' x 12' deck. Second coat is important and will use less. Happy to see it cleans up easy with water.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Traveler Waste of time and money
Applied as directed last summer. After all, after spending all that time and money you don't want to have to do it again for a long time. It's already blistering. And that doesn't just scrape off, it peels off. Behr is going to replace the product, but not the labor.
Plus this shows and holds on to dirt very easily.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Serangel Brought the old deck back to life
Bought this because my 20 year old deck was looking pretty bad. Went on nicely, but watch your dripping. Paint dries fast and the drips need to be wiped up or they are there for good. Make sure you clean your deck as recommended before painting or it doesn't adhere as well. All in all I would recommend this product for renewing old decks and it also made it slip resistant which is nice.
