We applied this on our deck in Oct 2013 following all prep instructions. We were careful not to put salt on the deck or any other ice melt.

We finally decided that our 20 + year old deck was worth some TLC and a couple of coats of Behr Deckover. Our choice in color was Cappuccino. Strong recommendations of this product by sales associates at our local Home Depot store aided this decision.
The extremely weathered condition of the deck made following Behr's application instructions to the letter all the more important. Behr's All In One Wood Cleaner in conjunction with a pressure washer provided a clean deck surface ready for the Deckover.
Decided to apply the initial coat by brush, due to condition and numerous cracks. (not a task my old back would welcome again, anytime soon). Even with just one coat the result was impressive. Coat number Two, put on with a roller, went on without a hitch.
The end results exceeded all expectations...our old deck looks new, bright, and provides a splinter free play area for two robust grandsons, age 5 and 3.
Well worth the time and labor involved.
Thank you Home Depot!
Hints: Check the weather forecast rain "tomorrow" not so good. Also bright hot sun thickens Deckover more than it already is, keep out of direct sunlight if possible.

I prepped and applied exactly as instructions say approximately 5 weeks ago. I live in Upcountry Maui- the temperatures NEVER exceed recommended application temps, high or low, year-round. It looked great! 4 weeks later it started bubbling up all over the deck. Really nasty. Cracking and chipping can only be what lies ahead. The house is for sale and my big selling point is now a complete eyesore. I will have no choice but to give a buyer a credit to replace the whole deck. I am going to lose $5,000 by using $150. worth of this 'easy to use, miracle product'!
Just sick after seeing all the similar complaints on this site and many others on the web. Wow, guess I am not alone. I don't think any other Home Depot product reviews have more 1-star reviews than any other star reviews. Point being- THEY KNOW this is a terrible product that is costing buyers HUGE amounts of money to remedy, yet they KEEP SELLING IT.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Crabble It looks great when you first apply it......but then....
This is not an inexpensive product. After letting it sit over night a white film appeared in random spots all over our deck. Whatever the formula for this product is, it is flawed. I read that the white stuff is surfactant like in soap. That is can be cleaned off but will repeatedly come back sooner or later.
I do like the rough texture and look. But after reading all of the stories about people having problems with peeling in less than a year I'm afraid of what this is going to look like by next spring.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ems01 Worst product I've ever used
We were so impressed with the demo at Home Depot that in 2013 my sister and I both purchased Deck Over and stained our decks. We both spent almost an entire summer on this project. After thoroughly cleaning our decks and letting them dry. We painted over the cracks and between each board with a paint brush as was suggested by the rep and allowed sufficient time for both coats to dry. Both decks look gorgeous for the remainder of that first summer. By spring 2014 the stain on both decks had cracked and started to peel. We could actually peel off the stain with our fingers. We touched up these areas only to have the same thing happen in 2015 and now in 2016. In addition, we were told the deck would be perfect for walking in on bare feet... It is not! This is very discouraging especially when my neighbors used a plain old deck stain and have much better looking decks. We were told the stain would last for many years and I have touched up my deck every year - what a waste of time and money. Several people asked why the deck looks like it does when it was recently stained and what I've used. I tell them but I also warn them it's a lot of money for very poor results. This product should last more than one year. Up to this point I thought Behr products were far better than other brands. After this experience I am not sure I will purchase Behr again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Smitty Here we go again . . . pealing!
This product was highly recommended by the Home Depot Paint Dept. Was told it would last for several years. I followed the preparation directions as stated. I spent days with the process. That was last summer . . . fast forward to 10 months later. it's peeling in many areas of our deck. I never intended having to prep and repaint our deck again this summer. More time and $$$.
I believe we should be refunded at least the cost of the paint!
