After cleaning our deck, I put two coats of this product on my deck. One year later it is peeling and it needs to be redone. (We do live in a four season state, snow, rain, wind and hot summers) I was really disappointed.

This is a very durable product. I used it on the wood base to my sheds in late 2013 and they still look great. This is a nice grayish color and blends in well with the landscaping. I also used it on the concrete steps up to the shed and it has held up very well. One can covers about 50 sq.ft. as you have to do 2 coats but it is well worth it. There are very good directions on the can. I recommend this for any outside application.

I did not use this on old weathered wood, rather new OSB for a trailer. It went on smoother than I expected. Slightly thicker than semi-gloss paint; maybe like a pudding consistency. Did not need any special equipment. Just 3/8 nap roller. It is very potent and the odor was strong so make sure you're in a well ventilated area. Dried fast and covered well. The can indicates that 50 square feet with two coats per gallon. I was able to do two coats of 100 square feet with about 1.5 gallons. Mind you it was new OSB not deeply weathered decking. I liked this product because the side boards are now water proof and extremely protected from the elements and product. I plan on doing the wood floor decking on the trailer once the pressure treated wood dries out.

After I applied on the old wood deck, it is rough and dried fast, applied deck surface is not smooth, uncomfortable to walk on it with bare foot.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Kevin Too early to tell, but so far, so good
I've had this applied on my very old, very weathered deck for about 2.5 weeks now in mid-June 2016, and so far, so good.
It was applied in less than ideal conditions, in partial direct sun, about 80 degrees and low humidity. It had not rained for about 3 days and my moisture meter had the decking at under 8%. I brushed it on to apply it, on over 200 sq. ft. of decking, and also on some vertical surfaces. It was much easier to apply with a wide brush than with a roller. I also feel like you will be able to spread it more efficiently with a brush, and that more product will be wasted with a roller.
It says not to apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. Unfortunately, it did rain about 26 or 28 hours after the second coat was applied. That wasn't in the weather forecast. Let's hope that's enough.
The one main criticism I have so far is that the actual color is VERY different from the in-store brochure as well as the online color guide. VERY different. I originally wanted to do my entire deck in Cedar Naturaltone, which clearly is a light brown in the color brochure. You put it on and it's a bright glowing orange color. After I applied one coat of that on everything, I went to Home Depot and then got additional cans in plain Cedar to do the second coat on horizontal surfaces only. Railings and vertical surfaces I left in Cedar Naturaltone for the contrast. Even the Cedar color is quite far off from the color in the brochure, it's also a bit too orange.
Now let's see if it stands the test of time. I have relatively cold winters here in the northeast and hot, humid summers. I like the texture very much, the matte finish is grippy. And it makes my several decades old deck look like new, almost like composite decking.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Heather Home Depot should pay to replace my deck
I prepared my deck meticulously following the instructions. After 6 months, it started peeling. Now after 2 years or so it is an absolute disaster. I can peel off huge strips with my hands. I have uploaded a photo showing how horrible the peeling is. I think there is mold growing under the loose strips that I am peeling off. I can't enjoy my deck anymore it is such an eyesore. I can't believe they are still selling this product. My goal for this summer is to somehow get all of this off my deck or I will have to replace every board. This product is a disgrace and I can't believe I am stuck with this horrible mess.

Incredibly expensive, doesn't hold up to high sun and winter weather. Just spent the day power washing the loose stuff off. What hasn't already peeled off comes off in big chunks with little effort. I might just rake up all the pieces blown off the deck and send it back to BEHR.
