Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Heather Home Depot should pay to replace my deck
I prepared my deck meticulously following the instructions. After 6 months, it started peeling. Now after 2 years or so it is an absolute disaster. I can peel off huge strips with my hands. I have uploaded a photo showing how horrible the peeling is. I think there is mold growing under the loose strips that I am peeling off. I can't enjoy my deck anymore it is such an eyesore. I can't believe they are still selling this product. My goal for this summer is to somehow get all of this off my deck or I will have to replace every board. This product is a disgrace and I can't believe I am stuck with this horrible mess.

We just finish painting the deck and it looked good for a few hours. After drying we simply walked over and discover that the soil stains stick badly to the surface. I cannot wash it off with the hose, not even scrubbing it with soap and a sponge. The deck looks absolutely horrible after a week of rain and people walking over it with normally dirty shoes. I am lost and do not know what to do. Another layer of this thick paint will simply cost me even more money and time. Paint on top with another product probably means it will start peeling soon. Removing all this paint now is impossible. This product is a scam. I wish I had read these reviews before. DO NOT USE!

Paint is good but too thick for a spray gun. Covers great but takes a long time to apply simply because you have to use a paint brush. You use a lot of paint because of the need for a paint brush in lieu of a spray gun. Very time consuming!

The product has been chipping on my deck. I just painted my deck one year ago. Not at all pleased. Tried to write the company but it won't send my request .

This is the color I wanted when I re stained by storage barn about 10 years ago. I love the bright red color. Since it was going on T-111 siding, I decided to use a brush. The brush should be 4" good quality, as the paint is really thick, which gives better coverage. It took me a little over one gallon to do my entire 10' x 10' barn.

After following all directions to the letter over 5 days, it took one dog walking on it for 10 minutes to see scratches everywhere. So irritated with this product. If you have pets or kids, beware.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Kevin Too early to tell, but so far, so good
I've had this applied on my very old, very weathered deck for about 2.5 weeks now in mid-June 2016, and so far, so good.
It was applied in less than ideal conditions, in partial direct sun, about 80 degrees and low humidity. It had not rained for about 3 days and my moisture meter had the decking at under 8%. I brushed it on to apply it, on over 200 sq. ft. of decking, and also on some vertical surfaces. It was much easier to apply with a wide brush than with a roller. I also feel like you will be able to spread it more efficiently with a brush, and that more product will be wasted with a roller.
It says not to apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. Unfortunately, it did rain about 26 or 28 hours after the second coat was applied. That wasn't in the weather forecast. Let's hope that's enough.
The one main criticism I have so far is that the actual color is VERY different from the in-store brochure as well as the online color guide. VERY different. I originally wanted to do my entire deck in Cedar Naturaltone, which clearly is a light brown in the color brochure. You put it on and it's a bright glowing orange color. After I applied one coat of that on everything, I went to Home Depot and then got additional cans in plain Cedar to do the second coat on horizontal surfaces only. Railings and vertical surfaces I left in Cedar Naturaltone for the contrast. Even the Cedar color is quite far off from the color in the brochure, it's also a bit too orange.
Now let's see if it stands the test of time. I have relatively cold winters here in the northeast and hot, humid summers. I like the texture very much, the matte finish is grippy. And it makes my several decades old deck look like new, almost like composite decking.
