I prepared my deck meticulously following the instructions. After 6 months, it started peeling. Now after 2 years or so it is an absolute disaster. I can peel off huge strips with my hands. I have uploaded a photo showing how horrible the peeling is. I think there is mold growing under the loose strips that I am peeling off. I can't enjoy my deck anymore it is such an eyesore. I can't believe they are still selling this product. My goal for this summer is to somehow get all of this off my deck or I will have to replace every board. This product is a disgrace and I can't believe I am stuck with this horrible mess.

We just finish painting the deck and it looked good for a few hours. After drying we simply walked over and discover that the soil stains stick badly to the surface. I cannot wash it off with the hose, not even scrubbing it with soap and a sponge. The deck looks absolutely horrible after a week of rain and people walking over it with normally dirty shoes. I am lost and do not know what to do. Another layer of this thick paint will simply cost me even more money and time. Paint on top with another product probably means it will start peeling soon. Removing all this paint now is impossible. This product is a scam. I wish I had read these reviews before. DO NOT USE!

Paint is good but too thick for a spray gun. Covers great but takes a long time to apply simply because you have to use a paint brush. You use a lot of paint because of the need for a paint brush in lieu of a spray gun. Very time consuming!

Purchased premium deck over. We had deck professionally prepared and product applied by same company. Owner of company said this would not be his 1st choice of product due to difficulty of application. it did not fill cracks as stated. product dried unevenly. Product pealed immediately. After complaints, the crew came back, resanded, reprepped all areas and applied 2 coats as directed on web site and on can. Still got same results. The crew worked very hard to satisfy us. This was not a small project with over 1000 sq.ft needed to be addressed. Will not use behr again. If the Pros couldn't make it work, how is the average DIY going to. Not happy. Worst paint I ever used. Started peeling in 1 year and by the 2nd year it is peeling all over. I can blow some off with my leaf blower. I would remove all of it but you don't make a product to remove it. I guess I'm just stuck with peeling paint for years to come. Thanks for such a terrible product.
An avid Behr paint user.

It went on very thick, more like a premium paint. Used a color to match our house color. Our deck is about 28 years old and it covered very good. The deck seemed to soak up the first coat. The second coat, I was able to fill in cracks, there were many. We had used Behr deck product a couple of years back; it had flaked off when the snow melted, So decided to use this one as it is was a new product. Saw it advertised on TV and it looked like a better product for an older deck. Very easy to apply and great to walk on.

At first I didn't realize how thick it went on but after it was great, it filled in all the cracks in my deck. Thanks! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
