Can you polyurethane over your application of Deck Over?

Asked by: Youncyc
Hi Yoncy, thank you for your question. No, because of the chemistry/solvent content of the different types of polyurethanes. There may be an adverse reaction with our Deck Over. Be sure to follow all back label instructions and best of luck on your project.

5 gal. #PFC-04 Tile Red Wood and Concrete Coating is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Other words I would use to accurately describe the Tile Red color would be Merlot, or deep purple... Other words I would use to accurately describe the Tile Red color would be Merlot, or deep purple-red. I have an 8x10 deck with steps, I had to use 3 gals for 2 coats. This is VERY thick, you may not be able to use the brushes again after painting with this product. **TIP** I see a lot of people upset about the preparation steps of this product. I agree, it is NOT fun. I found that the instructions are not good. For the stripper, apply VERY liberally, nearly excessively, and let it sit for no less than 20 minutes. I did NOT need to scrub it after that. I used a power washer and it came off pretty good. (It will not 100% strip the paint if it is old. Mine was painted about 15 years prior on a deck about 30ish years old. Came off about 75%. ) So long as it is not flaking anymore, you are good. If you have flakes, do this process a 2nd time, and I promise it will be good. 2nd Step: YOU MUST use the Deck Over cleaner. You cannot skip this. FINALLY, when you want to paint, you need to be sure that the deck has not been wet for about 72 hours prior to paint, and will not get wet for 24 hours afterwords (check the forecast!). Good Luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product ! I used this product on a concrete porch floor. The hardest part of this project was the preparation. After cleaning/etching and then applying the bonding primer, the actual application of the DeckOver was a snap. Since I was covering a large surface, I used a paint roller with an extension handle. The paint rolled on easily and smoothly, filling in small cracks and imperfections in the surface. Coverage was approximately 50 feet per gallon using two coats. Overall the project was a lot of work, but definitely well worth it. My new porch floor is not only colorful, but sports a smooth, slip-free surface. My porch floor is no longer ugly, and so much easier to maintain now too.
