Rated 2 out of 5Â by maintman I was not impressed
The product went on as advertised and did cover more than I thought. It looked really nice for a week or so.
Problem is I ordered in Sage which is lighter color and any dirty foot prints show bad. I thought it would just wash off but after 4 weeks I tried scrubbing the deck off and the foot prints will not come up. I used a good floor cleaner and medium brush but foot prints will not come off. I would not recommend this product for anyone with dogs or children who track dirt.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by unhappy beware! huge waste of time and money
I purchased 2 five gallon pails of this and 1 five gallon pail of the non-textured that I was told goes with it I also purchased all the preparation need for my large deck/stair/railing and for my small porch/railing/steps far more than they said I needed - the rebate was not a rebate - it was a home depot card that took months not weeks then I prepared for hours to get the 'optimal' coverage/protection waited days of extreme heat so no moisture and we (3 adults) proceeded to apply It is thick and very time consuming what I was told would take 'a day or two' took us three weekends and evenings during the week it is thick you have to fill the cracks it doesn't just fill in and it takes a lot to get it to cover (doesn't just glide over you have to go back and forth with force to get it to cover) clean up is FAR from easy and needs to be done quickly and often as it dries on the roller
THIS YEAR it is peeling off all over large & small areas both kinds it is horrible the only place it stays well are the places we made mistakes and got the gray on white or vice versa - Home Depot doesn't back the product at all there response it see what the company can do I am displeased I spent a great deal of time and money and they do not back it at all nor does the store care to hear the complaing
I suggest go to LOWES and get their product they back what they sell even if they don't produce it

Rated 2 out of 5Â by videoman GREAT STAIN, BUT.. UPDATE
In my first review, I gave this product 4 stars, but now I have to reconsider and post an update with a much lower score and here's why. I spent hundreds of dollars to purchase 8 gallons of this stuff to coat my 8 year old deck. When I finished the job, it looked great, however, here's what's happened since. After letting the stain set for more than 5 days in 85+ degree temperatures, I put my furniture back and then had a family gathering at my home. Chairs were sticking to the deck and when we moved them, chunks of stain came off the floor! Then the unbrella base got stuck to the floor as well and again, when I lifted it, more stain came off the surface. Bird droppings are difficult to remove due to the rough surface of the stain. I feel the BEHR commercial is misleading because they don't show how may times the deck was coated and how about having those actors dance on the floor wearing shoes? I spent hours on my hands and knees filling in ALL the cracks as directed and guess what? most of the cracks are showing again. One thing I noticed is that coverage with the roller is worse than the brush. I seriously doubt this stain will survive a New England winter especially when I shovel the deck to remove the heavy snow and it's only been 2 months since I used this product and I'm already having issues. I will post before and after photos to show the condition of the deck in the spring to show how Deckover performed during the winter months, but let me say this, If I have to refinish my deck all over again next year, I will NEVER buy this product again!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by lmktacwa Perfectly Satisfied (for now.... I just applied it this weekend)
I went with Behr. I can't truly recommend it until I've seen how it makes it through the winter and a full summer... but it was easy to apply thick.
Behr doesn't have the SUPER thick stuff (which people are saying peels off, even when following the directions to the letter), and they don't really say how long it is supposed to last, other than "longer than a normal stain/sealers". It seems like with the 2 coats my deck got it could withstand 5 years.
Its literally painting your deck with a thick coat of paint. We filled knotholes and it feels good to walk on barefoot. I don't think it is a "restorer" as rustoleum claims to be, so I don't know that it would have sealed a big sliver of wood that is peeling upwards, if that makes sense. But it certainly covered and sealed any smaller ones, and makes the deck feel smooth.
There is supposedly sand in the mixture to keep it from being too slick, and that certainly is the case. But you can't feel the sand. Its not like walking on sandpaper.
Long story short, if you are considering it, I would go for it.
I guess I would recommend it, based on what I just wrote, lol. Home depot reviews support the Behr product over the competition. and you will get a longer life out of it than whatever else you would choose to use; so worst case, why not buy yourself a few more years without having to re-do it?

Rated 4 out of 5Â by videoman Great stain, but...
I decided to try this new product to stain my 11 X 14 foot deck. First things first, it's a great stain, however, the amount of coverage you get is pathetic. The first gallon I purchased wasn't enough to complete the entire deck handrail with a single coat application. I purchased a 5 gallon bucket and it was just enough to finish the deck handrail and the stair handrail (single coat) the floor and steps required (2 coats on each) I didn't have enough stain left to do the (8) 7 foot tall deck posts and I don't plan on purchasing more. This product is excellent, but, I feel It's overpriced for the amount of coverage you get. BEHR should seriously consider lowering the price so customers can get more for their money.
