I bought this product to make a newer addition match the older part of my deck. It was time consuming and difficult to apply. We used 2 coats as recommended. It covered well and did mask the difference in age of the 2 sections.
My first complaint was that it made the surface of the deck (which surrounds a pool) incredibly hot and impossible to walk on without shoes.
Now after only 2 years the finish is cracking and peeling. It looks terrible. My once lovely deck is an eyesore! A waste of time and money that destroyed my deck, which was a considerable investment and can not be presently replaced.

We applied Deckover to our large deck and our garden boxes during late summer/early fall. By winter, we could already see some bubbling and the paint coming off. By the following summer, the deck looked pretty bad, with patches of paint missing. Two summers later, almost all the paint has bubbled off. We will have to scrape off the paint and start all over. The picture is without any scraping...So much for the guarantee!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Marsh50 Chipping and peeling off like crazy. Do not buy!!
Like the reviews that are good for this product, it looked great when initially applied. I did 2 coats and it looked amazing. Chipping and peeling is occurring all over my deck now (less than 2 years after applying). It looks terrible. What is still on there is impossible to clean. Any dirt that ends up on it is impossible to get off. What a waste of time and money. Stay away!!!

Prepared the deck with the deck cleaner and let it dry. Applied two coats of Deckover to the deck and it looked wonderful. After the winter, only 8 months later, it has peeled off everywhere. It did not adhere to the deck whatsoever. It is an extreme waste of time and money as it does not hold up to a CT winter.

Used a roller and brush to apply all the deck over paint. It drys fast so you have to watch for drips and if you think you need 5 Gals you will need 10 if you want to coat your deck really thick with paint. All and all it turned out what I wanted and took care of the cracks in the wood and will protect what is left of the deck. If you have an old deck and want it back to life try this and will save you from having to redo all the wood on the deck.

I bought two 5 gallon containers of this stuff, as well as the treatment prep solution to clean the deck off with first. I followed directions pretty much to a “T” though 2 coats of it...even doing this in a late Fall weekend when the weather wouldn’t cause issues. Looked great when it went on and was thinking with that strong ammonia odor that this stuff was binding to my wood really well. Was pretty pleased with it for many months. However, after this past winter, I have cracking & peeling just about everywhere including the hand rails that don’t get hardly any touch. Over $400 down the drain if you add up all the supplies this took. VERY disappointed.

Do not waste your time or money. Cleaned and prepared deck exactly as directed. Less then one month later, deck floor began to peel. So disgusted we decided not to do anything until we returned back up North this summer. We returned to a deck that over 1/2 the paint peeled off. I called Behr and the sent me another 5 gallons of paint, 2 gallons of deck cleaner and told me to purchase 7 gallons of paint remover and they would reimburse me. Really don't want to go thru months of work again. Think I will stain it.
