Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by waste of money We applied this product to our pool deck and tops of the railing around the pool. We even spent time talking to Behr to make sure we would use it correctly. Guess what I now, after one winter, have to replace my deck and railings because the coating is bubbling and peeling not only on the deck floor but also the rail tops are flaking and peeling as well. The worst part is that I have another 5 gal of this garbage that I was going to use on my front porch, that I can't take back because it's tinted. I would give the 5 gal to anyone, but there is no one i dislike that much! May 13, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Unhappy after one year We cleaned our large deck as per instructions, applied the coating as per instructions, and one year later the coating is peeling up from the deck, not in one or two spots but all over our deck. All the money spent on this coating was a waste and so was the high price of labor to install it on our previously beautiful deck. I believe Behr should have to return all our expenses to us including the cost of this coating and the cost of removing it and replacing it on our decks. September 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad product do not use Bought deck over to finish 22 year old treated lumber 14'x20' deck Wood was pretreated and cleaned as per instructions on the container and two coats were applied per instructions. After one winter the finish started to peel and crack. There were cracks in the wood (1/16th in width) which were filled with the deck over, however it looks like the finish cracked by the cracks in the wood causing water to get under the finish and causing it to peel off in sheets. Totally disappointed in the product. Wast of time and money. August 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Behr Deckover Smooth Finish vs. Textured I live in Bremerton, WA and we get a good share of rain here. We don't get much very cold weather, but it generally snows a few times each winter and can drop in the teens a few weeks per year. It also can get into the 90's for 30ish days per year in the summer months. I used the smooth finish product over previously treated fir 2X6 decking. It hadn't been treated for at least 5 years prior to my using the Behr deckover product. I used the Cape Cod Gray Smooth finish paint on my 600 sq ft deck after sanding and totally drying my wood. It peeled over 40% within the first winter. Totally dissatisfied and frustrated. I have used the Textured Cape Cod Gray on enclosed cargo trailer floors with good luck, though. So I pressure washed my peeling deck, sanded peeling spots, and let dry. I then applied the Cape Cod Gray TEXTURED product and it's been a good choice for me. It dries almost alike it has a hard plastic or even a concrete additive in it. I'm very happy so far with the TEXTURED PRODUCT. I'm waiting for next winter to come to confirm, but I'm confident it'll old up. July 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Thinking of using this? Don't! I put this product on bare pressure treated (and aged) lumber. Two years later and it is peeling and flaking off. Now I have to figure out how to remove it so I can use a better product. My deck looks terrible and this product is to blame. Terrible. May 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Just used this on my 20 year-old porch that had been stained and painted. Had to do alot of scrapping before applying but it worked just as it said it would. Just don't buy too much. I covered almost 450 sq. ft with 5 gallons and did apply two coats. Had bought a second 5 gallons as I thought it was 375 sq. per 5 gallons. Couldn't return it so sold it to a friend. Best part is it cleans up with water!!! June 14, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Behr Deckover paint will PEEL after one year We bought a 5 gallon can of Behr Deckover paint. Followed the instructions. Pressure washed the deck. Painted when the temperature and humidity were appropriate. Now the paint is peeling one year later. . I want my money back. September 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Huge waste of time and money! We painted our large deck with this paint last summer. This spring it started bubbling up and by mid summer it was peeling off in big strips. Painting it on is like painting with mud and is very time consuming. It took us weeks to complete but we thought it would be worth it in the end. Spent well over $400 on the paint and it didn't even last a year! August 26, 2016
