Hello Dave, For our DeckOver, we recommend using 2 coats. Each gallon covers up 75 square feet in 2 coats. For 320 square feet, we estimate about 5 gallons being needed. Best regards, Kevin

5 gal. #SC-123 Valise Wood and Concrete Coating is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coverage, great color, easy soap/water clean-up This solid stain goes on like a latex paint, much less dripping than with most stains. The product adheres well to the surface and 2 coats do fill in most minor cracks and rough spots. The top of my deck railing is now flawlessly smooth, where before you couldn't rest your arms on it with getting scratched. Will see if the 12-year guarantee holds up. One negative point - watch out for the intense aroma smell when you open the 5-gallon bucket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent deck paint I bought a five-gallon bucket of Deckover and waited impatiently for the rain to stop in early July. Finally got a stretch of very hot weather, and painted despite 90-degree-plus temps. Label says to paint in 50-90 degree weather. It's very thick, giving a good coating to my worn 18-year-old deck. Even one coat looked good, but I put the recommended two on, and now the surface is much nicer to walk on. It made my deck look brand new. I had just enough left over to paint my concrete entry steps, and they came out great, too! I am very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the time and money I considered Restore because my deck was in bad shape, but after seeing a friend's deck when he used it (after one year it was peeling and chipping badly), I decided to use Deckover. Depending upon the size of your deck this is not a weekend job. My deck is almost 1000 sq ft and I did half one weekend and the other the next; drying time between coats is 4-6 hours. My deck look s great, most of the boards are smooth and look new. Did I mention my deck was in very bad shape? Here a couple of things I discovered; 1) To fill in cracks roll the stain perpendicular to the crack. For stubborn cracks, use a brush and don't be shy with the stain, again brush perpendicular. 2) Don't leave wet stain late in the evening after the sun goes down. When the condensation forms over night, it makes the stain discolor and you'll have to redo that area. 3) While applying stain, keep paint pan in the shade. It dries quickly in the sun and creates a film that makes the surface bumpy when applied. Just a few things I learned, I hope they help. It was real work, but the end result was worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical way to restore old ugly deck Our 16 year old deck was in bad shape, dirty, worn and full of cracks. As last resort before replacement we tried deckover and are very pleased. Based on youtube research it looked easier to apply than the competing product and covered more so costs less, we used 4 cans to cover approx 350 sql feet. We choose color 'Valise' after first trying a lighter color that was way too bright, the Valise looks lighter on the deck than on the chip and is a pleasing neutral brown. Valise color gets a few degrees hotter than the lighter color when the hot Alabama sun is hitting it (120 vs 116 degrees - so you couldn't walk on either color). We did lots of prep, cleaned with behr cleaner, sanded and filled big cracks with caulk, after that the application was easy with roller plus brushes for the tight spots and between boards. It covered the boards as advertised (looks like the tv commercial ) and has smooth texture. We thought the color would show dirt but it doesn't, it cleans easily and so far durable after a couple of months of dog and human traffic. Whoever invented this stuff is a genius, our deck looks like new and we don't have to replace it, saving us a lot of money and time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product that made old deck look new! We used DeckOver on a wooden deck that was over a decade old, that was truly an eyesore to look at. After applying 2 coats the deck looks brand new. Another added bonus, it seems this will help keep nails from popping up. We bought this product after seeing a neighbor 's deck who used it 2 years ago and it still looked great.
