Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems to do what it says. We're very happy with the results. Its a thick substance and you don't want to work with it in direct sunlight if you can help it...but it covers very nicely. Our deck is 23 years old but in good shape...in fact it still seeped sap which I'm hoping this paint has sealed some of those weepy knots....it does cover and smooth out small cracks and knots. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not put this stuff on your deck! I bought this product to make a newer addition match the older part of my deck. It was time consuming and difficult to apply. We used 2 coats as recommended. It covered well and did mask the difference in age of the 2 sections. My first complaint was that it made the surface of the deck (which surrounds a pool) incredibly hot and impossible to walk on without shoes. Now after only 2 years the finish is cracking and peeling. It looks terrible. My once lovely deck is an eyesore! A waste of time and money that destroyed my deck, which was a considerable investment and can not be presently replaced. April 15, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I expected I bought two 5 gallon containers of this stuff, as well as the treatment prep solution to clean the deck off with first. I followed directions pretty much to a “T” though 2 coats of it...even doing this in a late Fall weekend when the weather wouldn’t cause issues. Looked great when it went on and was thinking with that strong ammonia odor that this stuff was binding to my wood really well. Was pretty pleased with it for many months. However, after this past winter, I have cracking & peeling just about everywhere including the hand rails that don’t get hardly any touch. Over $400 down the drain if you add up all the supplies this took. VERY disappointed. June 24, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by VERY Disappointed August of 2013 we bought 15 gallons to refresh our deck. Gave it 3 coats and look acceptable. Well, we had a snowy winter and now it looks awful. It is peeling in sheets on much of the deck. I have no idea what we are going to do now. I am not sure if there is a solution. There was no salt applied to the deck so that was not an issue. I am truly devastated having spent almost $500 for this product. I cannot afford to have the deck rebuilt so I am stuck with a terrible deck on my home. I have used Behr products before and they are always very good. I guess I am truly stuck!!!! I have always been a Home Depot guy and actually worked there for a while 2 years ago. April 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk !!! DO NOT put on concrete patio !! four months and it's filthy. Does not come clean . I am furious with this company. Applied to concrete patio. After just four months it's filthy dirty and can not be cleaned. It attracts dirt. Everything shows on patio. shoe marks, furniture marks. Worst part is that is seems to remain soft enough to let dirt ground in. It never hardens like an epoxy. I don't know what the heck to do with my patio now. How the am I going to fix this. I should have used a stain. I was told to use something from Sherwin Williams and not use Home Depot products. Should have listened. My patio is ruined !! Cal M. Lake Placid. Florida April 5, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed Used this on my deck last summer and thought it looked great. Spring has sprung and the paint is pealing off in sheets. I'm wondering how I can remove it so I can have my deck restrained again this year. Complete waste of money!!! April 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of time and money. I was very excited when I first purchased this product. My deck was terrible and after watching the videos and looking at the reviews I decided on this product. It looked so easy in the videos. Well, after taking the time (seemed like forever) to completely sand and prepare my deck, I started to apply the Deck-over. First of all, it was so clumpy and thick it was almost impossible to roll on. I used the recommended roller and everything. Then it used so much just to cover a small surface, i ended up having to buy at least twice what i originally planned. It took way more time, and far more money than I had planned to do this project, and worst of all, less than one year later it is cracking, peeling, and blistering all over. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone that does not wish to have to do all the work over again in another year or two. Also, it is extremely hard to keep clean, the redwood color shows every speck of dust and no broom or hose seems to get it off. Maybe if you used a pressure washer, but I'm sure that would cause the paint to peel and blister faster. P.S. (some people are saying the deck with the deck-over looks worse than before, very disappointed in this product.) June 25, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible! After 1 winter we have to redo our whole deck because it's bubbled up & is flaking off everywhere- This is going to be horrible to take care of! April 2, 2015
