Hello John,
Thanks for your question. Our DeckOver stain is not designed to stand up to the wear expected on garage floors, so we'd recommend against applying it there. You might instead consider our 1-Part Epoxy Floor Paint: http://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-Premium-1-Gal-PFC-20-Coronado-1-Part-Epoxy-Concrete-and-Garage-Floor-Paint-93001/203936906?keyword=behr+1-part+epoxy+coronado (notice: I gave a link Read More

For prep, we recommend removing any loose or peeled old paint, sanding the frayed edges of that coating smooth, lightly sanding any areas of the coating that are glossy, spot etching any bare concrete, cleaning the whole surface, spot priming any bare concrete with a product like our No. 880 Bonding Primer, and then applying the paint. Please follow all label instructions for best results, and well wishes!

Hello Chip,
Thanks for your question. Yes, it's okay that the deck was recently power washed, and yes, we would recommend prepping the surface with a product like our No. 63 Wood Cleaner which will open up the pores of the wood to promote adhesion. Please be sure to follow all label instructions, and best wishes.

Hi there,
Thanks for writing in, and sorry to hear Deckover has began to wear off. If the coating is worn in more than just one area, it's best to remove as much of the loose coating is necessary. Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Deck Over for my old wood deck Wood deck is old, needs to be replaced! Saving for a new deck in a couple of years. Some boards needed to be secured with additional screws. Did NOT want to sand or power wash deck...too much work for me and for an old deck. Decided to just paint over old deck with DECK OVER. Results were amazing...paint covered boards with a thick coating. Had several rains storms and paint remained on deck. This will get me through a few years while I can save for a new deck. May submit before and after pictures when I am completely finished. Very pleased with product. July 17, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It is what it is. The product does seal up cracks ok but it's a lot of work to do so. It is very heavy and does not flow into cracks easily. I brush and rolled, maybe sprayed it may do better. The coverage is poor and it get's very gummy when it's hot out. It say's so on the info, so it was not a surprise. You have to check for skippers after it dries, especially on vertical applications. It recommends not to cut it, which I did not do on the deck surface. But you have to, just a bit, for vertical apps. Fencing, hand rail, etc. What I figured should take me 15-20 gallon took 25 gallon, I'm a retired painter,(40 years), and know how to estimate. It is not a product I would use again, at the amount I used. Small project maybe, but it's too expensive for larger jobs. For me anyway. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent It was outstanding, covering a well worn - maybe 25 year old deck. I used to re-stain every 3 years, hopefully i will get many more years with Deck Over. One note, the can idicates that with 2 coats, one can expect 50 Sq Ft per gallon. I am guessing I got over 80. Only, minor downside, is that it dries real quickly, do not leave any "spills". One needs to immediately spread any "spill", ala from the roller. August 21, 2013
