Used a roller and brush to apply all the deck over paint. It drys fast so you have to watch for drips and if you think you need 5 Gals you will need 10 if you want to coat your deck really thick with paint. All and all it turned out what I wanted and took care of the cracks in the wood and will protect what is left of the deck. If you have an old deck and want it back to life try this and will save you from having to redo all the wood on the deck.

We spent a couple weeks beginning of summer completely redoing our deck by Behr DeckOver 5-Gal # SC-330 Redwood color. I will post some pictures for you to see before and after our painting deck project operation! :-) Make sure you CLEAN and strip from paint or stain and make sure the deck it is CLEAN and DRY; this is very important! Follow exactly what you are suppose to do according to the painting manufacturing instructions. I pressure washed the deck with cleaning chemical solutions for wood decks, weekend before. I painted the deck in a cool full sunny days (one weekend in 75F). This paint dries very fast in full sun! so make sure you are ready for a fast painting motions and wait at least 5hrs before you put your 2nd layer down (I did 2nd layer the next day morning just in case). It look great!! I mean day and night look different!. We live in NH, now all I have to is wait and see how it would pass our winter; if did pass our winter test then we would be one satisfied happy customer for sure.

Spent a couple weeks last summer redoing our deck for our daughters grad party. Did exactly what we were suppose to, cleaned the deck with their products before applying the paint. Note: don't paint if it's hot or sunny the paint dries VERY fast!. It looked great. We live in MN, after the winter, the paint is chipping and washing away. It looks awful and hasn't been a year since we put it on. Now we are attempting to contact Behr to rectify the problem. Lots of expense and time wasted. Would not recommend.

We applied this last fall to our deck, following all the instructions on the label. After a pretty mild winter with only a few snow storms our deck is cracked and peeling. There are large spots where the paint is just gone. Not impressed at all. We paid quite a lot of money for this product and we are going to have to redo this deck again this summer.

I use this just as the directions said and it seemed to go on fine last summer. We power washed the deck in the ramp with a cleaner and waited a week to make sure everything was nice and dry, then we put on two coats over the course of two weekends and it looked great. After the winter it was peeling up in some spots big chunks of it and the rest was all little spots. We do not use the deck in the winter, we do use the ramp so I can get in and out with my wheelchair in both places were about the same. Maybe this would work down south we you don't get snow I don't know, but it definitely doesn't work in the north. It was very expensive and we had to buy yeah 3 five gallon pales.

Deckover is different from other stains/wood preservative products that i have used. Much thicker, brushes on more slowly over old, cracked wood. Appears to do a very good job filling cracks. Color and surface are fine. The real test will be how it looks this time next year. If it does not peel or otherwise come off I'll be well satisfied.

this is not much better than paint......if you try to fill a small crack and go back over it to smooth it out it comes out of the crack. Does not transform your deck just makes it all one color.

We spent the summer weekends redoing our deck on a coastal property in MA. I loved the look and feel of it when we were done. We rented the place over the winter and I'm now anxious to see how the deck survived a pretty harsh winter. My hopes are that we can just go relax all summer on a great looking deck. Once I see the results, I'm hoping to upgrade the rating to 5 stars.
