This product peeled before the end of one season in so many spots we had to remove it all from over 900 sq ft of decking. No refund from Behr could possibly equal the loss of time and money this product cost me. Won't ever buy another Behr product.

This paint was beautiful at first. I was very diligent and purchased the very expensive primer and applied everything as directed Then applied the paint as directed on the can including dry weather etc. It was beautiful. I had people over to the house and received so many compliments! Then, within 2 month the paint started bubbling. It was fall by this time so I ignored it. Well this spring it looks terrible as much of it is cracked and open and peeling. I am going to have to strip and redo the entire thing and we have 2 huge decks. I am so disappointed. I expected this to last a few years. Also this was a very expensive project for me. Not happy!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by TT Poor Product - Difficult to apply - Peels Quickly
Product is extremely difficult to apply. Is too thick to apply with roller. If you are successful applying with a roller the product leaves a textured surface. We were finally able to apply with a 4" brush. Use of a brush drastically extends the time required.
We power washed the deck and just prior to application re-sprayed deck with garden hose and spray attachment. We allowed several days to dry and started application. Several sections of deck started to peel within a month. At the point of this review the product has been on for about 9 months. It is peeling at many locations on deck.
I would not recommend the use of this product. As Review Title states it is very difficult to apply and then does not stick to decking. I am extremely dissatisfied.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dee Worst Behr paint
Worst paint I have ever bought from Home Depot. It was so thick you could not stir it, it was like cement. I had to go buy paint thinner to put in it and it was so hard to stir and to spread on my concrete patio. I am so disappointed I would not recommend this to anyone. I may never buy paint from Home Depot again. The price I paid for this quality of paint is so disappointing. I recommend if you buy this paint check it before you leave the store.

Let take a look at this scenario. You have an old deck and you want to replace it. You have several options including, rebuilding, painting and now, with the invention of Behr’s Deckover, resurfacing. While I will not tout this as the best thing since sliced bread, it certainly does have it’s purpose. It is quite thick, so it really does cover small dents, cracks, holes, etc and provides a really nice, new looking finish(as show in the pictures). I will not though recommend this as your end all be all deck restorer. This would be great for spiffing up the deck before a party or before an open house, but I would expect this needing to be done once a year to keep the deck looking nice and new. As you can see in the picture, it scratches easily, as those marks were done with my fingernail. After a while I can only imagine what it would look like. That being said, make sure your deck is clean and old paint is scraped off before application, which is fairly easy, as I did it with brush and it applied fine. This is acrylic, so cleanup will require mineral spirits, which sometime can be a bit messy. Overall, it really is a good product and has its uses. If you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to refinish that old deck, then give Behr Deckover a try and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Used a roller and brush to apply all the deck over paint. It drys fast so you have to watch for drips and if you think you need 5 Gals you will need 10 if you want to coat your deck really thick with paint. All and all it turned out what I wanted and took care of the cracks in the wood and will protect what is left of the deck. If you have an old deck and want it back to life try this and will save you from having to redo all the wood on the deck.

We spent a couple weeks beginning of summer completely redoing our deck by Behr DeckOver 5-Gal # SC-330 Redwood color. I will post some pictures for you to see before and after our painting deck project operation! :-) Make sure you CLEAN and strip from paint or stain and make sure the deck it is CLEAN and DRY; this is very important! Follow exactly what you are suppose to do according to the painting manufacturing instructions. I pressure washed the deck with cleaning chemical solutions for wood decks, weekend before. I painted the deck in a cool full sunny days (one weekend in 75F). This paint dries very fast in full sun! so make sure you are ready for a fast painting motions and wait at least 5hrs before you put your 2nd layer down (I did 2nd layer the next day morning just in case). It look great!! I mean day and night look different!. We live in NH, now all I have to is wait and see how it would pass our winter; if did pass our winter test then we would be one satisfied happy customer for sure.
