We applied this product last year after properly prepping the wood. We used 2 coats to ensure it went on thickly and well. Now, just a year later it is peeling off badly and is chipping. It went on well and looked beautiful the first year, and we thought we were happy about the product. Now it's coming off in strips.

The product was easy to apply. I prepped the wood and used the cleaner as the directions said.
I Applied the product in July of 2013 and it was pealing off 8 months later by March of 2014. I told my nephew I did not recommend this product and the problems I had with it. My nephew decided not to listen to me and applied the product in the summer of 2014 now in April of 2015 it is pealing off. The only good thing is Behr gave me a full refund since I still had the upc codes and the receipts.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chip BEHR Permium DeckOver worked as advertised on my Deck
I used BEHR CEDAR NATURALTONE WOOD and CONCRETE PAINT on my weather exposed deck. I had to replace about half of the 14 year old boards so I needed a product that would help improve the remaining life of the existing boards and match up with the newly installed ones. BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER did this nicely. Proper preparation of the wood before application was as just as important with BEHR as any other product on the market to obtain the overall desired success upon completion. My only complaint with the BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER was the color I chose(did not check color samples beforehand). More of a butterscotch pudding color than a natural cedar tone(house color). Clean up was easy with water. I would definitely use BEHR PERMIUM DECKOVER again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Leah Not easy, but worth the work!
My deck is painted and it looks great. It was not as easy as the commercials imply. Read the directions carefully. It is a lot of work just to get the deck clean enough for painting. Big cracks have to be filled; we used a Wood Epoxy Putty. Small cracks must be filled in with DeckOver and allowed to dry or the roller will just pull the paint out of the crack . Then you have to have 72 hours cure time without any rain. When the weather report would not cooperate we spent half a day putting up a tarp tent over the deck... then of course the predicted rain still has not come.. The finished deck has the texture of very fine sandpaper, I expected something smoother, but the rough surface is better because it is more slip proof. I do not recommend using Deckover on the railings...too rough for railings.
The Behr website is also very helpful. They have both email and phone support. All the directions on the can, and more, are at their web site.
I would recommend Deckover, with warnings about how hard it is to prep.. But we think it was worth the work!!

I purchased all the bear cleaner before I applying the stain. Used their recommendations of the paint rollers and products they suggested but my deck looks horrible. One year later I have to paint it again! The paint chipped all over the deck and it peels off if you have items on it like outdoor rugs not happy with product at all

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ToolTimeTony Attractive non skid concrete coater too!
This product is designed for both wood and concrete, most applications are for wood decks as it’s a thick coat that covers minor surface imperfections. I used it to paint a concrete walk outside walls and steps. Surface prep is essential, even with concrete. I pressure washed the area and then used a concrete and masonry cleaner prior to application. Its thick paint, so stir it well and make sure you have it "shaken" at the store, I used a paint pad to apply but you can used a brush or a roller. Water cleanup, two coats are required for wood, and I did the same with concrete. Its texture gives steps a nonskid quality. Finish look is great, it blends well with my cedar tone deck. Be sure to give the surface time to cure, at least two days without foot traffic, and a few extra days would be a benefit.
I rated this a four only because I can’t attest to the long term durability at this time, but the surface looks great and I don't expect any issues.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bigbob DIDN'T LAST 3 MONTHS!!!
I applied 2 coats to my deck in June. By September there were places that the product had worn away to the bare wood! This product is not worth the time and money to put down! There were even spots where it peeled away! Three days of work and money wasted!
