We put the stain down and it started popping off doing the spring of the next year. We stripped it, waited then coated it again. This past winter it has popped of even worse. DONE with that product!
So our concern is it peeling and popping after a wet cold winter.
Thanks for your help!

My husband and I have sealed many decks in the past, never had this problem before. We heard about your product form another proffesional contracter. He had used it and was VERY happy with the results.

Hi HotRod,
Thank you for your question! This product is recommended for properly prepared exterior weathered or cracked horizontal and vertical wood and composite surfaces such as Decks, Railings, Porches and Boat Docks. Also great for concrete surfaces such as Pool Decks, Patios and Sidewalks. Do not use on drivable surfaces such as garage floors and driveways. Can this deck restore product be used as waterproofing on new, pressure treated plywood? The building is in southern Texas. I'm concerned that the product may peel in the heat.

Rated 2.6 out of 5 by 31 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Unhappy after one year We cleaned our large deck as per instructions, applied the coating as per instructions, and one year later the coating is peeling up from the deck, not in one or two spots but all over our deck. All the money spent on this coating was a waste and so was the high price of labor to install it on our previously beautiful deck. I believe Behr should have to return all our expenses to us including the cost of this coating and the cost of removing it and replacing it on our decks. September 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not good It shows dirt. The guy at Home Depot said it doesn't have a sealant in it to protect it from dirt so the dirt wears into it and stays . August 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Huge waste of time and money! We painted our large deck with this paint last summer. This spring it started bubbling up and by mid summer it was peeling off in big strips. Painting it on is like painting with mud and is very time consuming. It took us weeks to complete but we thought it would be worth it in the end. Spent well over $400 on the paint and it didn't even last a year! August 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Behr Customer Care After my recent review of this product, Joshua from Behr Web Customer Care reached out to me to address my issues. After answering a few short questions we were able to come to agreement. I might not recommend this product, but I do appreciate the time and effort Behr's representative took to try to make things right. I am grateful there are still companies out there that care about their customers and put forth the effort to make them happy. June 11, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your time. Do not waste your time or money. Cleaned and prepared deck exactly as directed. Less then one month later, deck floor began to peel. So disgusted we decided not to do anything until we returned back up North this summer. We returned to a deck that over 1/2 the paint peeled off. I called Behr and the sent me another 5 gallons of paint, 2 gallons of deck cleaner and told me to purchase 7 gallons of paint remover and they would reimburse me. Really don't want to go thru months of work again. Think I will stain it. June 26, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waist of Your Money We were advised by the Home Depot Rep in paint section that Deck Over is the best on the market for your deck. Will last for a very long time and is very durable. After two months of application paint was bubbling and chipping away from wood. Cracks were not concealed. To be such and expensive product it was very disappointing. not even a year in we already have to repaint the deck. Product does not hold its value. Very Very unsatisfied! March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BEHR Permium DeckOver worked as advertised on my Deck I used BEHR CEDAR NATURALTONE WOOD and CONCRETE PAINT on my weather exposed deck. I had to replace about half of the 14 year old boards so I needed a product that would help improve the remaining life of the existing boards and match up with the newly installed ones. BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER did this nicely. Proper preparation of the wood before application was as just as important with BEHR as any other product on the market to obtain the overall desired success upon completion. My only complaint with the BEHR PREMIUM DECKOVER was the color I chose(did not check color samples beforehand). More of a butterscotch pudding color than a natural cedar tone(house color). Clean up was easy with water. I would definitely use BEHR PERMIUM DECKOVER again. August 15, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DIDN'T LAST 3 MONTHS!!! I applied 2 coats to my deck in June. By September there were places that the product had worn away to the bare wood! This product is not worth the time and money to put down! There were even spots where it peeled away! Three days of work and money wasted! October 7, 2013
