Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product to Use after Removing Tile After removing my bathroom wall tile, the wall was rough from the glue used in 1969. I dreaded sanding or replacing walls. While at Home Depot, I found the Venetian Plaster as an option and WOW! It looks great and solved my dilemma. The application was not difficult and the results are beautiful. A tile pattern between the smooth top of the wall and the texture of the Venetian Plaster creates a professional appearance to the design. I plan to use the Venetian Plaster in my second bathroom this summer when I remove the tile in that room. May 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hearts Flyin Red Accent Loved the texture and color. I used it to accent the area above my fireplace, a window shelf, a band along the stairway, border the ceiling in the powder room and as a back stop in the kitchen. This coordinating bright color is eye catching and ties the downstairs of my townhouse together. I coordinated it with Mint Hint and Athenian Green. I used the top coat product also. May 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by not the best finish but not bad I have done several faux finish painting projects in the last few years with several major branded types of products. The behr faux venetian plaster finish applies simular to others. The minimum 2 coat process isn't the best I've used. I added this finish to a bathroom. It had a very difficult time covering the existing knock down plaster texture existing on the walls. Other texture products I've used had no issues with coverage of existing plaster. Besides the issue with coverage I had no problems and the finish applied as advertised. Tip: Make sure you cut in from the corners before rolling on first coat. The coverage has a way nicer effect and avoids the repetitive markings that occur if rolled first and then cut in from walls with a brush. July 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wallpaper Fixer Have used this in two different homes. The first one had walls where we took paneling down. They were in decent shape but did have some dings and dents. So we used this on the wall from floor to ceiling and it covered perfectly. The second home we used it in had really ugly wallpaper that was stuck directly on the drywall. We scraped the wall paper to make it more even and then applied this to the top of the wall and made wainscoting for the bottom and never had to remove the wallpaper. August 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NECESSARY PROTECTION!! Have been doing venetian plaster for 9 {NINE} years now. Other brands may be easier to use[rollered instead of troweled] but they DO NOT provide the PROTECTION that this one does. For my best results, I use 2-3 coats of it to insure durability. (grandkids-BOYS)When applied over burnished plaster it doesn't dull it down to nothing like a competitor's product does. In high moisture areas done 9 years ago, it still isn't chipping, cracked, scratched or dulled. Since I prefer a HIGH GLOSS- I top it with several coats of HIGH GLOSS WATER BASED FLOOR PPOLYURETHANE to get a FABULOUS marble/stone look . Works like a charm! This top coat may be slightly pricey- BUT IT'S WORTH IT!!!! March 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by for my backsplash i wished it had more shine the plaster project was tiring but rewarding (see my review on the plaster itself) but for my backsplash i would have preferred more shine, so i added another coat of a semi-gloss clear to it. Plus i feel that made it more washable, as it was a kitchen backsplash. I feel BEHR should make this product available in smaller sizes as i have a ton left over, and it was rather pricey. But all in all, a great solution to imperfect walls July 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice looking project After being suddenly dismissed from my job, I found myself with a lot of extra time on my hands, so i embarked on a project I'd been putting off for YEARS. Removing wallpaper from my 2.5 story entry way. Which then turned into an I hate wallpaper in my house project that traveled to the hallway, kitchen, dining room and bedroom. (Inherited decor from previous homeowners). I heard about venetian plaster, which seemed to be a great solution to uneven wall surfaces left by the previous homeowners (they call wallpaper wall COVERING for a reason, i've discovered). I loved the final outcome of this project, however I feel I would do it differently than the instructions. I saw a youtube tutorial that showed someone using a roller for the initial coat, and I think that would have been quicker, neater, and easier. Leaving less drastic differences in dept for ease of sanding, yet still providing texture and detail. All in all, I liked the outcome of my backsplash, but I was glad it was a small area to work with, because the sanding process was tiring. My suggestion to behr would be to sell this in smaller sizes as well, i have a LOT left over from doing my backsplash July 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Venetian Plaster using Behr It took me 5 months while going to school full-tiime, working part-time, but I finally finished applying Venetian Plaster on my living room and dining room walls. I did it all by myself! As an artist, I found the process quite challenging and well worth the efforts. I had to buy a sander and knock down some high orange peel texture on dark chocolate walls to apply warm shades of light sunlit custom matched colors of plaster. The results are phenomenal! Everyone loves my living room. It's a small 1100 square foot house and half the walls are now blessed with Venetian plaster in various finishes and color. Be careful! It's addicting. June 1, 2012
