Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be used on a concrete floor

Asked by: BobB
Hi BobB, Thank you for posting your question. The Premium Plus Flat Exterior Paint can not be used on flooring of any kind. For your concrete, I suggest using something like our Porch and Floor Paint, Concrete Stain or 1-Part Epoxy. Regards, Amanda

Can I use this paint over color coat?

This stucco has never been painted. What coverage will I get with this paint in these conditions?
Asked by: Auditjstore
Hello Auditjstore, We appreciate your question. As I understand this Color Coat product to be a stucco, yes, our exterior wall paints like this one can be applied over it, even if it's unpainted. Please allow 30 days for the stucco to cure, and we'd recommend cleaning and then priming with a product like our No. 436 Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer. Our primer and paint will each cover 250-400 square feet per gallon. Well wishes for your project!

just opened 5 gallon can of stucco paint and it appears very thin. the paint is 2-3 years old

Asked by: Sadie
Hello Sadie, Thanks for your question. Right, if the paint has been sitting for a few years then settling can occur. Also, our paints have a shelf life of two years if properly stored and kept unopened. To see if the product is still good to use, you can either have the Home Depot paint department mix it up or you could do a stir test, stirring the paint for 5 minutes with a paint stick. If the paint flows evenly from the stick back into the container without giving off a foul odor, then try it out on a piece of sample material. With good coverage and adhesion there, it's considered good enough to use on your project surface. Well wishes for your project!

1-gal. #BXC-50 Stucco White Semi-Gloss Enamel Exterior Paint is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I purchased BEHR PREMIUM PLUS exterior semi-gloss enamel to paint my front door. The paint is very thick. So much so that the stirrer will stand straight up in the can even after the paint was shaken at the store and stirred constantly while I was applying it to the door. After several coats and sanding in between the finish is blotchy, shiny in spots and flat in others and you can see every brush stroke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best paint I have ever used Our house is 42 years old and has cedar siding trim with brick. The cedar was beginning to deteriorate and I didn't think it would take another winter, but last spring (April 2013) I tried Behr Premium Plus Semi Gloss. It went on very easily and looked beautiful, but the real test was this last winter (2013/2014) which was one of the worst in history with lots of below zero cold and snow. My cedar siding still looks exactly like it did last spring when I put it on. I also painted deck railings with it and they look great too... even after that horrible winter. I LOVE it! I will never buy anything but Behr in the future for both interior and exterior.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Paint We buy Behr paint all the time. We have used this exterior paint for many purposes on our property over the years. It lasts really well and we buy this even when there is another paint that is cheaper. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wrong Color for Front Door I am painting a new front door. The first coat of paint went on smoothly, but the door appeared bright pink (I had chosen a dark red color). After the second coat, it is still a pinkish color but a little darker, but still not the color that I chose.. I am waiting for spring time to put on a 3rd coat. I didn't know that I would have to put so many coats of paint on this door. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint I painted my house 5 years ago and used this semi-gloss for all of the trim. It went on easy and covered in one coat. Even after 5 years of Michigan weather I can still touch it up and the sheen and color still match. I have had to replace some trim boards and window sills due to issues with the materials installed by the builder years ago and the paint matches perfectly. I have never had this good of a product on the exterior of a house.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Home Painting White Stucco We selected this paint to cover traditional stucco for a 13 year old house in Fl taking into consideration rain, sun, heat, winter freezes. It is one of the only "waterproof" paints at the required thickness. We Used a Wagner sprayer Flexio 890. I have painted several of my own homes over the years but never sprayed. I found this very easy to do. I preped with a power washer/ cleaner and was spraying over existing paint so did not prime. It did require more paint than calculated but I'm assuming that was due to covering the darker color with white. looks great easy to apply and although it appeared thick the sprayer worked very well. 4.5 days to prep and spray for a 3400sq ft home. After drying it is clear that is a good seal expected from a polymer. We used the same product for the trim by roller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny I was anxious about painting the outside trim and door of my house. Even though this paint was expensive, I bought one gallon to give it a try. This paint is AMAZING!!!! It covered up small cracks, blemishes and dried with the look of brand new. Coverage was ample, as I only need one coat on most areas. What a time saver!! And a bonus was that clean-up was a cinch -- simply use water. It has been six months since I used the paint, and everything looks great, especially my front door. I can't think of one bad thing to say about this paint.
