How do I amend my remarks made about Behr Ceiling Paint to include an update?

I would like to amend my remarks made about the Behr Ceiling Paint to add the fact that I contacted Behr Customer Support to discuss my problem. Their Customer Support Department went far beyond my expectations and not only were very concerned about it, but promptly agreed to ship me their upgraded product in hopes of correcting my problem at their expense. I could not ask any more of a manufacturer in standing by their product.
Although their product failed to cover properly as discussed in my earlier remarks, they admitted that it could be a batch problem and took 100 % full responsibility to see that I was a satisfied customer.
I will remain a Behr Paint user with that kind of people running the company.

If you're just covering white, one 2-gallon tub should do the job.

Answer:
It depends on the color and texture of the surface and the method used to apply the paint.. For a standard medium to light colored relatively smooth surface, using a typical roller a two gallon container should be sufficient to get the job done. Brushes use more paint while paint sprayers use less.

Answer:
I wouldn't think so. If there are stains, use Kilz first. Or if this is new drywall, use a PVA primer first, OR, if the ceiling is a dark color, you might want to prime it first, but otherwise, it will cover nicely and look good when you're finished.

Answer:
No. If the ceiling is already any shade of white, VERY pale gray, tan, or beige, you should not need a primer. However, if there are old water marks or stains, you should apply Kilz over the stain before painting.

No, it already has primer - 2 in 1. If you want or need more primer coverage, use the Behr Marquee paint.

Answer:
Hello Doris,
Thanks for your question. Yes, we'd recommend priming before applying this ceiling paint. That would be our No. 75 All-In-One Primer & Sealer on new drywall. In low moisture rooms, we recommend No. 73 Premium Plus Drywall Primer & Sealer.
Well wishes for your project!

You don't add a primer to this paint but rather I highly suggest priming the ceiling before applying this ceiling paint for best finish results.

Answer:
Hello Jackofalltrades,
We appreciate your question. We actually wouldn't recommend it for use on walls, but we do have a flat wall paint that's got a higher solids content. That'd be our Premium Plus Interior Flat: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/33/33d29fe4-1e57-4435-accd-8a40948e6b3c.pdf.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Behr Bright White ceiling paint adds light and freshness to any room. I am a Realtor and many homes that we list require a cosmetic facelift, and/or overdue maintenance items that the home owner never kept up with, and even light renovations. We do some of the work ourselves, and also hire contractors and supervise the work as a service to our sellers. Painting is almost ALWAYS on the list of things to do prior to listing. We use nothing but Behr paint, and this bright white (which we prefer to the regular, and duller, color) ceiling paint is always perfect. Coverage is great, the bright white choice adds light and illumination to rooms making them look bigger and fresher, and the clients love it. Great quality paint is the only way to go. No, it's not the cheapest, but the cheap ones require more coats (more WORK!), and don't dry as evenly. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Ceiling Paint This paint went on easy and covered in one coat. It was also very reasonably priced. I used it on my porch which I recently renovated. The ceiling and the porch had not been painted in 15 years. I had no problem covering the old paint and making it look new again. I liked it so much I painted the walls to match. Granted I was paining white over white, but the to make me happy it had to cover in one coat and it did. September 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Covered in one coat! Our living room had not been painted in 10 years. So the ceiling was stained from years of smoking. I used behr flat ceiling paint and it covered all but the corners with 1 coat. the corners were stained from smoke so it took a few coats. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it The ceiling white is beautifully bright. It increases the ambient light in rooms significantly. My small home was painted by the prior owners just before I moved in. They opted for a beige ceiling and dark beige walls. I have painted the entire inside ceilings with this product. It covers in one coat. I have also used this "ceiling" paint as wall paint in closets, the dining room and living room. Using the same paint and color for the ceiling and walls makes painting a room much easier and faster. The paint in the two gallon container is an excellent buy. It is something like 25% cheaper than buying two one gallon cans. The empty containers are handier than the five gallon versions. Showing pictures of a wholly painted ceiling is pretty useless. The photo - I just finished gutting and painting the closet - part of a whole house reflooring project. The closet ceiling and walls use the ceiling white paint reviewed here. The white area on the exterior wall is a one coat layer of the same paint - residual on the roller after painting the interior of the closet. Note how well it covers the darker wall paint. The second photo shows a one coat application on my living room/ dining room walls. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Ceiling Paint I have been in the building industry for over 40 years and have done a lot of painting in my time and have used a lot of Behr paint from HD. My latest job involved the repainting of a garage ceiling which was last painted over 20 years ago and required the patching of several scratches and imperfections with drywall mud. I first painted by brush all of the spackled areas and edging, then after 3 hours, proceeded to roll the entire ceiling. Much to my chagrin, the paint failed to hide or cover these areas leaving very obvious patches. Thinking that it needed a second coat, I then proceeded, after 4 hours to re-roll the ceiling. Again, and very disappointingly, the patches were still clearly visible. I don't know the problem, as I have never had to roll a ceiling 3 times. Maybe a bad batch, but I will definitely not be using Behr ceiling paint again. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, if only... This is a good product, it covers the ceiling very well, I only wish that it would go on pink and dry white, thus you'll know where you left off. Painting the ceiling is hard a sit is, so having two different colours would help immensely. June 28, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not good at cover hide and shows roller start / stop marks even in flat I was disappointed. I like Behr paint. We needed to cover a ceiling that had been painted a brown/green ceiling. I wanted to use premium plus ultra Matte but the HD person said the ceiling paint would be better. It was also less expensive so we gave it a shot. This is a huge ceiling covering foyer, kitchen, breakfast area and keeping room. It looked horrible after one coat even though we kept a wet edge everywhere. It dried with blotches and streaks which may be normal but we REALLY wanted one coat and had applied as heavy as possible without it dripping or running. We also used 1/2" nap roller. So we had to paint a second coat and roll the second coat as fast as possible since it dries quick. This gave it a much better look with much less streaks or blotchy lines. Just a lot of work and wish I had stuck with Matte. October 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Painting ceilings is a challenge. This paint is largely spatter-free and keeps the surroundings clean. Application flows nicely and cover is very good. October 25, 2016
