If I wanted to spray this on, could I? Would I use a regular sprayer or a hopper?

Answer:
This isn't spray texture. You need to roll this on with a roller or dab it with a brush. It won't go through a sprayer and I think it would gum up a hopper. If you have a hopper, just use normal texturing material.

Answer:
Hi Todd,
A sprayer is not recommended for Behr Premium Plus Texture Paints. The Texture Paint should be applied with a brush or roller.

Answer:
Hi Todd, Behr, does not recommend spraying on of this product. The recommended application is with a loop roller, or high quality brush, and in special applications, a trowel.

Answer:
Apply it with a roller. I used a semi-rough roller. However, you will roll it on differently than paint. Load up your roller and you will only get a short line of texture. The "paint" portion of the product will keep going on, but you will run out of texture quickly. I would practice in an inconspicuous place before doing the main area. It takes a little practice to keep it even.

Hi Lee,
The answer is no and yes!
Pop Ceiling Texture Paint is not like ordinary paint and although you do use a roller (looped) and brush to apply it to the ceiling, your experience will be different than typical paint application.
When you prepare the your room, you want to make sure that the surface is either primed or if you are applying texture over a previously painted surface, the surface is clean and the finish is a low sheen (such as eggshell or flat). The texture tends to make splatter more likely so it is recommended that you cover or remove anything you do not want to have in contact with the Texture Paint.
The first difference you will notice is in the container. Texture paint is a heavy-bodied product that needs to be stirred very well for several minutes to loosen the material. Once loosened, the consistency is thick- similar to cooked oatmeal. It will take a little more work to "load" your tools so use a deep-well paint tray and work your roller into the material and then roll onto the paint tray a number of times until your roller is well covered. It should have enough product that you do not have to press the roller to transfer the material onto the wall but not so much that the roller drips. As you apply Texture Paint you will also need to reload your tools more frequently than you would with traditional paint. Multiple coats will be needed to achieve the desired textured effect. A two gallon container of Texture Paint will cover between 100 and 200 square feet with one coat.
Unlike traditional paint, Texture Paint will also mask minor imperfections such as cracks and small holes so it is often used on less than perfect surfaces.

Answer:
i mix product with ceiling paint for coloring. i find regular drywall topping works best. i use about 1/2 gallon of paint per 2 gallons of mud. mix it well with a drill & paint mixer. also mix it once in a while when you are using it so the mud doesnt set up if you are doing a long job. u can have the paint tinted to the color of your choice.

Answer:
Hi Dano,
BEHR Sand Texture is not available in 8 oz. sample jars. If you would like to see the texture of this product, most stores have a sample hung on the shelf near the two gallon pails. The sample includes Sand Texture, Smooth Texture and Popcorn Ceiling Texture.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Purchase Ever This paint was just what I was looking for, there were blank spots on my ceiling where the paint was falling off, I used kilz on each and every spot, after they all dried I painted them with this texture paint, I tried to use a roller, but it became too heavy, so I tossed the roller and used a very good brush and covered every spot, my ceiling now looks brand spanking new. I am so proud of myself I am 70 years old and I did it all by myself, up and down the latter. I covered about 12 spots, and it looks GOOD. this paint is the balm. to those of you who have the old fashion popcorn ceiling try this texture and just cover the spots. to remove the whole ceiling can be very expensive and will cause a lot of dust. so try painting over the spots, I think you will be happy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Solution, Better Than Spray On Can Tried this stuff after I used the spray on texture, which looked terrible. My popcorn ceilings had been professionally sprayed on so I wasn't expecting a miracle when using the Behr product. I was actually surprised at the resulits, not an exact match by any means but definitely far better results than with the spray on texture. Unless you are trying to match really extreme, large textured popcorn I wouldn't use a loop roller as suggested....I started off with the loop roller but ended up using a standerd roller designed for rough surfaces, had a much better result. I patched a pretty large area (6' X 6') and it came out looking solid, would work even better for smaller patch jobs. September 7, 2010
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Paint with Texture The product itself is great and created an even amount of texture. We had to blend a NEW wall with previously textured walls, and they blended good. One downfall to the product is it came in two gallon amounts only, and i needed less than a gallon for one wall. It would have been more convenient to have a product added to my gallon of chosen paint. I purchased the behr brand paint originally because it is a SINGLE COAT paint, but with the texture in two gallons, they can not add paint to it, so I ended up paying more for the single coat paint, and still had to do two applications. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by do not,,i repeat do not buy this stuff i read reviews figured what i have too lose ,,guess what i lost valuable time with this product,, the stuff is junk its globby mess flys all over rhe place ,,my advice use either the texture stuff additive that mixs in your paint this way u can decide how texture you want it ,,,also i alittle hint if want sand look in ceilimg paint ,,get play sand or go to beach n get the fine sand there n add to your paint,,be way cheaper and works well,, thats how did the sand paint thing in old days my father told me that i should of listened to him,,, try either or but not this stuff July 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cheaper than spray texture but not as good. It is much harder to use than regular paint. A lot goes a little way as someone previously said. However, for under $30 I covered my bathroom ceiling. It isn't perfect my any sense, but it does the job. You have to work hard to get it to come out even and then it still is pretty think. I used a semi-rough roller that seemed to work ok. With any roller it will be MESSY! Cover EVERYTHING! I think this would work well for small patch jobs of less than a square foot. July 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible way to paint a ceiling! This product is horrible to use! It is messy, messy, messy. No matter how careful you are, you WILL get more paint on the floor ( and yourself) than you will on the ceiling. It is difficult to work with and not at all what I had expected from a Behr paint. I used an indoor primer for the ceiling and followed the instructions as listed on the ceiling paint label. However, it seemed that the popcorn paint would not adhere to the primed ceiling. Allow yourself as much time for clean-up as you do for painting your ceiling with this product, as it gets on EVERYTHING. Even though I had all furniture and surfaces covered when I painted my ceiling, I still had an almost 2 hour clean-up afterward. I enjoy painting, but this project -- with this product- was a nightmare. I would not recommend it to anyone. April 28, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Is This a joke? This product was so thick that there is no way that it could be spread with a roller - think marshmello fluff. Watering the product down did get it to a usable product and it did end up matching my existing ceiling. Using a normal roller instead of a loop roller also worked better. I do not think I should need to modify the product to make it work - maybe the instruction should include information on watering it down. October 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by awful stuff, waste of time and money I had a pretty big ceiling patch to make after removing a big recessed light. I opted for this product over the aerosol cans that do not go very far, or having to deal with the mess of a hopper gun. What a waste of time and money. The only thing i accomplished was to become completely frustrated. I followed the vauge instuctions, mixed it well, and primed first. The problem was that it does not stick to the roller. I tried all different naps, but only had the same results. It seems that if you were able to get paint on the roller, it just pushes into it when you roll it. Don't waste your time with this stuff. I just hope I can get my money back! April 7, 2010
