I will be painting the walls of a room. Want highest quality paint. Current color: dark red. New color: antique white. Will be patching some small holes.
I don't want FLAT, don't want semi-gloss. Please describe the FINISHES that are in-between.

Future use of the room: home office with books and computers.

I see that one kind of paint is both primer-and-paint (??one coat??). Do you suggest that ONE coat will work for the above job?

What kind of patching material do you recommend?
What kind of PAINT ROLLER do I want for slightly texture finish?

Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. All of our latex paints are non-toxic once the coating has fully cured, however, it should have a typical paint smell. If you would like more information you can view the Product Data Sheet for details.

Dear rayray,
Thank you very much for your question. As stated by a previous answer, you want to start by first multiplying the length of your home by the width of your home. 30 ft long by 40 ft tall will give you a measurement of 1200 square feet. You can subtract some square footage for the doors and windows you may have. So, you would need roughly six gallons or one 5-gallon and one additional Read More

Hello, if you take the width of each wall and multiply it by the height, you get square feet.
For example 30 feet times 40 feet = 1200 Sq Ft, go to the Behr Calculator, slide it to the left or right until you get close to your square footage, in this case 1200 is actually 1221 Sq Ft, so you would need 6 gallons of wall paint and 4 gallons for the Read More

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exterior House paint I bought two cans of this paint to do the back of my home. I choose this paint because of its ability to cover imperfections and it had good reviews. I was able to finish the backyard walls in one day, starting early in the morning and I was finished by noon. I had already prepped the windows and doors the day before so all I had to do was wait for the temperature to get high enough for the dew to dissipate. I started on one end of the house and my husband was working the other end and this paint covered wonderfully. I would recommend if you need an exterior paint that you use this one. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent quality Color mix is always consistent, and I get great coverage with it. February 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First time with Behr I bought this paint not really sure exactly what to expect. Paint and primer in one? One coat? Well it is all of that and more. I used it on my side entrance porch which faces south and is all wood. The porch looks amazing after just the one coat. The paint dried quickly and it was easy to clean up afterward. Thanks Behr! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mom's house My mom passed away a year ago last April. We'd always talked about painting her place, but it just never got done. Now that I'm a landlord of it, I had to do it. LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out and the fabulous color selections and quality of the Behr paint. I'm so glad we chose it! September 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by only paint I will use .great coverage .used on an old huge barn. was very satisfied with outcome!!!! April 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Only paint brand I purchase My BEHR experience has been terrific since the first can I bought back in the early 90s. My exterior paint has lasted almost 15 years and my interiors that long as well, except for the places where the kids wrote on the walls. This is the only brand of paint that I will buy! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect results with Behr paint every time I have never had a problem with Behr paint, other paints I have had problems with and always come back to Behr paint May 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better Exterior paint than any other brand About 8 years ago I was between jobs and decided to paint the exterior of my home (wood composite siding circa 1976). I had used Behr on most of my interior walls and felt I should use Behr for my house. I had painted a little over half of my house; the back half, and was offered a great price on a name brand product other than Behr. So the front of the house had an "other" brand on it. At about the 6 year mark I noticed the front of the house looked faded and uneven in color. Upon comparing where I switched paint the Behr still looked great, the other thumbs down. Behr is worth the money, positively for both interior and exterior! August 26, 2013
