Customer Questions & Answers

Is it your company that advertises "if the color isn't right, you can return it"? I'm trying to find a true gray.

I brought home a sample of both 1/2 formula and full formula Silver Tradition ICC-23. It seemed ok so I bought a gallon. When I put it in my small bathroom, it looks blue and that is not what I want. Any suggestions for a light true gray?
Asked by: Anonymous
Dear shores girl, Thank you very much for your questions. Unfortunately, Behr is not the company that offers a color guarantee. However, please contact Home Depot to review and discuss their return policy. When choosing color, we suggest you first try our sample sizes, which will allow you to paint up to 4 square feet. Samples are a very inexpensive investment to survey multiple colors on your wall. Also, our color experts are suggesting you look at the color Toasty Gray N320-2. It's a really good middle of the road gray. Thank you,

Re: interior wall (not trim) - cover dark red - pls describe the various finishes (ex: eggshell? satin?)

I will be painting the walls of a room. Want highest quality paint. Current color: dark red. New color: antique white. Will be patching some small holes. I don't want FLAT, don't want semi-gloss. Please describe the FINISHES that are in-between. Future use of the room: home office with books and computers. I see that one kind of paint is both primer-and-paint (??one coat??). Do you suggest that ONE coat will work for the above job? What kind of patching material do you recommend? What kind of PAINT ROLLER do I want for slightly texture finish?
Asked by: MaryMel
Hi MaryMel, Thank you for your question! We would recommend our BEHR Premium Plus Ultra paint. Your options would be matte, eggshell, or satin. Satin finish is the most shiny, eggshell is the least. Please follow all label instructions.

5 gal. #23 Antique White Flat Interior Paint is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 192.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from favorite paint This and all other BEHR paints are my go to paint. I've never found another one that covers so well and finishes as I would expect a paint to. I have gotten an occasional gallon of other brands only because my store is not local. I always find myself comparing and finding the other brands definitely not to the quality BEHR paints are. I think it was the coverage that got me first. Excellant. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product We have always had excellent results with the Behr paints. Therefore, when we decided to repaint the walls in the living room in our condo, we went with Behr. The results were excellent. One coat covered without any problem. The walls were painted using Behr paint 5 years ago, they still looked good, but we were looking to change color. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint I use BEHR all of the time. There have been a couple of instances, for convenience or price; that I have used other brands. I always regret it immediately. The other paints just run and are watery. One of my most recent projects was painting my sons room a dark gray/blue. It was originally a light beige. It took one coat and one can of paint for a 12x15 room. Love this paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Premium Paint The paint was of good quality and no thickening on the bottom of the can. The color was well blended and applying the paint was easy, smooth and even without the need to retouch. Great paint quality without a premium price! Rated 1 out of 5 by from customer warning I painted high rise offices in the early 1970s. The first day on the job I was warned not to paint stripes on the wall. Stripes are vertical variations in color or sheen that can be seen when light shines down the surface of a wall. You can see them if you stand close to a wall and look down the length especially if their is a window or other light at the other end. Since 1978 I have been in construction full time and have had a contractor's license since 1989. Most of the time I worked for other contractors. I have seen hundreds of paint jobs and done a few myself. I recently retired and have been working on a small project at home. I bought Behr Premium Plus flat to paint the walls and ceiling. The flat ceiling paint was flat and worked well. The paint can said flat and also had a note " matte finish". The wall paint did not have the matte finish note and was not a flat finish at all but a slight eggshell. It shows gloss variation stripes. Even if Behr considers flat to be an subtle eggshell, this is not acceptable. The paint says it is a primer. If it is a primer then after two coats the sheen should all be the same. Sheen variation is one reason I never use eggshells unless underprimed with white pigmented shellac or similar stain sealer. Not in almost fifty years in the construction industry have I had a flat paint that showed a sheen variation after two coats. The quality is totally unacceptable if you at going to use it in any situation where you might look down the length of a wall especially in a hallway. I will have to buy another brand and repaint the two walls where this is a problem.
