Hi Gloria,
We appreciate your question! Yes, our Premium Plus Exterior Satin Enamel can be applied to an exterior steel door. For best adhesion, we recommend scuff sanding the door to de-gloss it, cleaning the surface with soap and water, and priming with a separate primer like our Premium Plus Interior/Exterior Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer. Answer:
Hi johnnyboy47!
Thanks for writing in with your question! It's not recommended to use an exterior paint for interior surfaces. For cabinets, I recommend using the Alkyd Semi-Gloss paint instead, which can be used for both interior and exterior surfaces. This paint has excellent flow and leveling, plus will hold up to cleaning. Hope this helps, and good luck on your project! Best, Jeanette P.

5-gal. #240B-6 Orange Zest Satin Enamel Exterior Paint is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 228.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great paint, horrible for cleanup! I have painted with my father for over 40 years. This product has good coverage, but not the best. It likes it's own color. If you are changing colors spend the extra and get the better quality to avoid two coats. Also it is murder on your brushes. I had to use brush cleaner and even that didn't get them clean. I recommend putting brushes in thinner if you are leaving for any amount of time like to lunch or something. Get as much paint off the brush as you can first. If you ever worked with oil base (which this isn't), then you know what I am talking about. I painted a home with a lot of scraping and shake/shingle siding three years ago and it is still holding up really well at that job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Exterior Paint! This paint covers well and goes on smoothly with a brush or roller. It seems to be holding up nicely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality paint but be prepared for multiple coats Used this to paint exterior doors that were already white but in need of a brightening. Had to apply three coats to get the uniform finish that I was looking for so the idea that it is paint and primer in one just means that you don't have to switch paints because after one coat the doors looked horrible. Paint went on great even in the panels which can often be tricky. Painted in perfect conditons, mid 70s with a slight breeze and sun, so the dry time was great. Able to get both sides done with 3 coats in a couple hours which wasn't too bad. Bought during the labor day sale so price ended up similar to lower brand and the performance was much better after trying that in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint, Covers First Time on Exterior Siding We had the paint tinted to Mesquite Powder. This paint is excellent quality and perfect to repaint the wood siding on our home which had started weathering from the west sun. Took only one coat even though slight "dried" cracks in siding had started to appear. The color selected is beautiful and looks great on our walls. Because it is satin enamel, it has a slight sheen to it instead of the typical flat surface. Anticipate that it will wear well and be easy to clean off (dirt, dust, etc) when we're ready to sell next summer --as well as keeping that freshly painted appearance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a primer and paint in one as labelled. Home Depot did an excellent job matching the color but I was disappointed in the performance. The label reads to indicate that it is a primer an paint. This paint is definitely not a great primer. I bought primer that we barely used because of the label on the can. It performed poorly on the cedar and poorly on the prepainted surfaces. Background color and stain bled through on both new and previously painted surfaces. You MUST apply a good grade of primer before applying this Behr product. Do not expect this product to cover unprimed surfaces with less than 2 good coats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paint went on smooth and clean. Only issues with painting my project was environmentally related.... Paint went on smooth and clean. Only issues with painting my project was environmentally related. Chilly and damp conditions made it take a long time to dry. I did not like the paper label. They tear easily and get soggy when paint gets on them. I am sure there is a way so that paint won't roll down the outside after pouring, but i'm sure for most homeowners and do it yourselfers that ability is something that escapes the novice painter. Overall the paint was good quality for the price and I would re-use it and recommend its use.

This one is so good that you don't need a primer to block the previous color (at least, not in my case). With just 1 coat it looks very nice, no need to apply a second coat if you are in a hurry (anyway, it's recommended tell you more; the day I was painting was partially cloudy. It started to rain 15 minutes after finishing one coat of this paint. I thought that I had to do the job again... well, not! The paint was intact. Yes, you can trust this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Paint and paint again We bought the Behr paint with the hopes that we would only need one coat, as they advertise. We had to used 2 thick coats to cover. We pressure cleaned the old paint. We've used the premium with primer in it and we still had to use 2 coats. For the extra price you pay for paint with primer, we were disappointed. We still will use Behr but are going to try some other popular brands to see whether we are paying too much for a named brand.
