Rated 5 out of 5Â by dipper works on vinyl decking .
I have a 6 year old 100% vinyl deck that the sun was not kind to . I purchased Behr Solid Color wood Stain and color matched it to a board that was an extra with no sun fade . I power washed the deck and rolled the stain on then brushed it out . Now after 3 months of use , it DID NOT scratch off from the deck chairs being pushed in and out and no discoloration from the sun and water from a hot tub . One gallon covered a 15 x 31 foot deck with railing .

WE have a 40 year old deck and I have tried lots of different things to keep it nice. 3 years ago, I put this stain on it. It not only LOOKED beautiful, it is now 3 years old and has gone through some horrific winters and still looks like new.
It was easy to use, easy to clean up, and I liked that I could color match it to the house. I will buy it again.

I have used Behr products for over 20 years and this is the best one yet.
I have used other semi-transparent wood stains, however, feel that the solid color works best for me.
My deck is over 20 years old and this stain renews and covers all imperfections and lasts quite a long time.

I very much like the Behr products. The stain is good but I miss the oil based that lasted longer. As a substitute, it works well and covers well. Sometimes I have to apply a second coat but only in certain areas where the sun hits harder and longer.

So far, this solid color stain looks real good on our deck. Consumer report said it was a good one, so I gave it a try. This deck had been previously stained with semi-transparent stains and showed many spots and discolorations on the surface. I went with a solid color to cover these problems. The product went on like paint, thicker than stain. I don't know why this is shown in 5 gallon containers since I bought it in a one gallon can.
