I have white ceramic tile flooring. 1ft x 1ft. I want to paint a darker color. What do I need for that?

I would like to paint my ceramic tile from living room. Just to change from a mauve maybe to a Saltillo red. sugg?

Asked by: Eve
Hi Eve, Thanks for writing in! Marquee is not recommended on tile floors, but if the ceramic tile is un-glazed, I'd recommend using the Porch & Patio Paint instead. You might like the colors Santa Fe (PFC-15) and Deep Terra Cotta (PFC-10). Hope this helps, and good luck on your project! Best, Jeanette P.

I am renovating my basketball team's locker room and finding is very low. Is this paint an option for redoing the shower

Asked by: CoachMcNeal
Hi CoachMcNeal, Our Premium Plus paint wasn’t designed to hold up to the amount of moisture a shower is exposed to. We currently don’t have a paint that can be applied in a shower, so it’s best to reach out to your local Home Depot for a different product that would work. I wish you the best with your renovation! painting my older kitchen countertop tiles

My kitchen counters are made of older ceramic (or porcelain) tiles and I believe the edge tiles are the bullnose type--(my place was built in the late 1970s). The tile surface is semi-gloss (off white) and in need of being refinished. Replacing the tiles would be complicated because I don't want to replace my cabinets at this time. There are a couple of small chips in the tile edges. I would like to paint the tiles a terra cotta color, but if a dark color is not practical to achieve, white or off-white would be fine. The grout lines are no bigger than 1/8th of an inch everywhere on the counters. They are typical kitchen counters and are used for regular food preparation, so will need regular cleaning, etc. Do you know what product or products I could use successfully to refinish my counter tops including the grout lines or would I need to re-grout after refinishing the tiles? Thank you for any information or advice you can give me that will help me with this project.

Hi DeDe. Thank you for your interest in our Behr Premium Plus Interior/Exterior Paint. Kitchen counter top tiles is not a recommended surface since it will be coming in contact with food. Although once the coating has cured, it is non-toxic and should not pose a threat when sitting or touching the film, we would not recommend it for this type of application. We would advise a paint that is FDA approved for such use.

5-gal. #PMD-42 Mission Tile Semi-Gloss Enamel Exterior Paint is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I purchased BEHR PREMIUM PLUS exterior semi-gloss enamel to paint my front door. The paint is very thick. So much so that the stirrer will stand straight up in the can even after the paint was shaken at the store and stirred constantly while I was applying it to the door. After several coats and sanding in between the finish is blotchy, shiny in spots and flat in others and you can see every brush stroke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best paint I have ever used Our house is 42 years old and has cedar siding trim with brick. The cedar was beginning to deteriorate and I didn't think it would take another winter, but last spring (April 2013) I tried Behr Premium Plus Semi Gloss. It went on very easily and looked beautiful, but the real test was this last winter (2013/2014) which was one of the worst in history with lots of below zero cold and snow. My cedar siding still looks exactly like it did last spring when I put it on. I also painted deck railings with it and they look great too... even after that horrible winter. I LOVE it! I will never buy anything but Behr in the future for both interior and exterior.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Paint We buy Behr paint all the time. We have used this exterior paint for many purposes on our property over the years. It lasts really well and we buy this even when there is another paint that is cheaper. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wrong Color for Front Door I am painting a new front door. The first coat of paint went on smoothly, but the door appeared bright pink (I had chosen a dark red color). After the second coat, it is still a pinkish color but a little darker, but still not the color that I chose.. I am waiting for spring time to put on a 3rd coat. I didn't know that I would have to put so many coats of paint on this door. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint I painted my house 5 years ago and used this semi-gloss for all of the trim. It went on easy and covered in one coat. Even after 5 years of Michigan weather I can still touch it up and the sheen and color still match. I have had to replace some trim boards and window sills due to issues with the materials installed by the builder years ago and the paint matches perfectly. I have never had this good of a product on the exterior of a house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny I was anxious about painting the outside trim and door of my house. Even though this paint was expensive, I bought one gallon to give it a try. This paint is AMAZING!!!! It covered up small cracks, blemishes and dried with the look of brand new. Coverage was ample, as I only need one coat on most areas. What a time saver!! And a bonus was that clean-up was a cinch -- simply use water. It has been six months since I used the paint, and everything looks great, especially my front door. I can't think of one bad thing to say about this paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great!! I used this paint to redo the doors on my new house. I love the way that it went on. It was a bit thicker than typical wall paint, but in the end, who cares? The only reason thing I've found to be a pain is that it scratches a little when my dog shuts the dokr behind himself. I didn't lower the star rating, because even though it's scratched a little bit, it's been 4-20x per day over 4 month's time and I've only had a few small spots to touch up. It's been a really great product, and I used so little of my pint, that I'll have touchup paint for years. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
