Can I used this paint directly on freshly textured walls? The walls were primed prior to texturing

We just finished hanging sheetrock, mudding, taping, sanding and priming the walls. Now we are going to texture over the fresh primed walls and then we will move onto paining. I am hoping this paint will have a sufficient primer in it so I do not have to do a separate priming layer before I paint this Behr paint plus primer paint.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 957 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So very pleased with Behr paint I now only use Behr paint. Paint + primer seems to be the standard in the industry now and I would not paint any other way. I used this to paint a bathroom we have been remodeling. We had new drywall installed so I primed it with new wallboard primer, then used this product in a custom color the associate mixed for me - little known fact - at Home Depot the paint associates have a data base of competitive colors - so if you see a color chip in another brand they can match it. This paint covered in one coat. I had to do a couple little touch ups around the ceiling edge where I cut in but otherwise on coat gave me a very professional finish. There was an area that was not new drywall that had been painted a dark green previously where I put two coats so if you are trying to cover a dark or deep color you may need two. December 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No such thing as 1 coat. 2 coats Complete, or 1 coat with touch-ups After some previous auto paint and body experience, and some time in the construction world, I would normally spend all of paint money at paint stores such as Sherwin or Benjamin. However, the days of watered down BEHR paint are over, and the result is a reliably good product every time. The paint is consistently mixed, and coats cover very well. I painted this directly over new drywall and compound, as well as some painted wall, and it definitely covered in one coat. However, it left behind some spots due to the roller running dry. A second think coat made the wall look complete, NO PRIMER NEEDED! On another wall, I was running short, and ended up having to stretch a quart. Same thing, the roller left a few speckles behind, but I touched them up as I painted the edges and everything blended very well, no need for a second coat. I highly recommend this product. As usual, everything cleaned up with water. ProTip: If leaving the roller and brush unattended for a while (for lunch), just wrap them in a bag (the home depot bag). May 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad paint We saw a great review of this paint in Consumer Reports, so we tried it. The room is 9 x 13 with two doors and two windows. The color before I started painting was a light blue. The Behr paint color was a light orange. This paint did not even cover 3 walls and we could still see the blue underneath. This is the worst paint I have ever used. April 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Streaky, even after 3 coats This is my first time using the Premium Plus Ultra line, and I am sorely disappointed. Painted a dark blue (Tidal) over a sky blue, and while the color is great, the coverage is terrible. I use quality microfiber rollers and am very careful in application, and I still have huge streaks in the paint. It seems to dry extremely quickly and any touching of existing paint leaves an uneven appearance when trying to blend lanes. I am worried that any future touchups will look awful. I agree with prior reviewers that the lower-end Behr products are superior to this paint. At thirty-five bucks a gallon, I expect this paint to be hassle-free and look good with two coats. I'm starting coat #4 with the rest of the second gallon, and I really hope that this coat salvages the single wall I'm trying to cover. I would not recommend this paint to anyone. Stick with lower-end Behr, or go with the Valpsar or Sherwin Williams Cashmere line if you want to stay in this price point. We have had much better luck with them. April 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Grrrrrrrrr... This morning I sprayed the inside of a house I am building. Primer was Glidden PVA. I sprayed it right out of the bucket (5 gal). No thinning. No straining. 25 gallons on two floors in 2 1/2 hours with my Graco X7 Magnum. Perfect. This afternoon I planned to spray the finish coat. This stuff. Nothing but problems. It sprayed for about two gallons then wouldn't spray anymore. I tried cleaning the sprayer and thinning the paint. I figured my sprayer had bitten the dust...it is old. So I went to Home Depot to buy a new one. The new one wouldn't spray this stuff either. So I called Graco and told them the problems I was having. The guy immediately asked if I was using this paint. He said, "Clean out your sprayer. Strain the paint. Add about a pint of water per gallon and it should spray." This is more water than you are supposed to add. The strainer caught all kinds of garbage. You have to be careful spraying because it will sag since the paint had to be thinned. I bought this stuff thinking when HD had it on sale I was getting an upgrade for a good price. WRONG. If you are spraying stay away from this stuff! April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Flawless/Odorless/Perfection! What wood paneling? We redecorated a basement paneling nightmare of a guest room this past weekend and used 1 gallon Ultra Pure White Eggshell Premium. I am super sensitive to odors, and this had no odor unless you were standing with your nose up to the wall. This dried so fast, it was impressive. This was able to cover paneling with a helpful application of Killz Premium primer. We won't use anything else! October 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Big Disappointment I'm a big user of Behr paints and will continue to use their "lower" line. I've painted deep purples, light grays and a variety of colors using the "regular" Behr paint and loved the results - usually one coat did the trick for a very professional finish! This time I bought the Ultra thinking it would be just at good or better. Unfortunately it is NOT. It will take at least 3 coats to cover an extremely light pastel shade of yellow with a new light shade of gray. The yellow is almost white because it is so light but nope ... it's showing through all over the place and you can actually see where the roller was. Huge disappointment for both me and the painter I hired. Oh well, live and learn but from now on I'm sticking with the cheaper non-ultra version of Behr. February 13, 2016
