This dries fast on walls, not sure about shelves, but I would wait a good 2 days, just to be sure.

Hi jdg1i835, Thank you for your question! The dry time is 1 hour to touch and two hours for a re-coat. Darker colors may require additional dry time
between coats. Cooler temperatures or higher humidity may prolong
drying time. After 4 weeks, cured paint film may be cleaned with a mild,
non-abrasive liquid detergent.

Hello Curiousaboutcoverage,
We appreciate your question. Yes, it can cover over a dark paint, and it's okay if there are multiple past applications of different paint colors. Based on the new color you choose and the surface porosity, you may have to do a few coats to get the best coverage and workup of the new color.
Well wishes for your project!

Hi jules57,
Thanks for your inquiry! PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA® Interior Satin Enamel is available in thousands of colors. You can either choose from one of over 2,000 colors at the Behr Color Solutions Center, or if you have something you would like to match, you may opt to have one of The Home Depot Paint Associates custom color match to a color of your choice.

Answer:
Hi Joel,
Thanks for your question. Yes, if thinning is needed based on sprayer, thin with water at a rate of no more than 1/2 pint per gallon. Good luck with your project!

Answer:
It's always a wise choice to not thin, but use an extender, in a paint whenever it's going through any sprayer.
We carry paint extenders, like Floetrol, at your local Home Depot. It not only makes the paint flow out easier, but it makes clean up of all of your sprayer and parts much easier.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 834 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Paint I had no idea what type of paint I needed to purchase, thank God there were people to assist. This paint came out great on the walls with the color I chose. Turns out that I didn't need the expensive stain blocking option since my walls were a flat white (according to my painter) regardless I still prefer this, for the extra cost. April 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Baby Bedroom We purchased this paint to paint our new baby's bedroom. The quality was great and it only took 2 coats to cover the previous paint on the walls. We used to buy another brand of paint regularly, but are making the switch to Behr. June 8, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not good at all I have used Behr paint in the past and it was the best I had ever used, clearly they have a different manufacturer now. The coverage is horrible. You must second coat everything even the cut in around trim. I will never purchase again. June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom repainted I did my research on paints and some were 60 to 70 dollars a gallon at the paint stores but consumer reports rated behr ultra the best overall. I have to say I was surprised it covered the darker color in one coat. I would highly recommend this paint at 34 dollars a gallon you can't beat it. November 18, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Happy I purchased this to paint small closet. This product is very thick and it drips....took three coats of paint for adequate coverage. I am not a novice painter but found this to be difficult to work with. May 2, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great paint is excellent with a little help Our 1924 Craftsman has loads of woodwork, most of which was either painted an extremely dark green or extremely banged up, dented, chipped or had been chewed and deeply scratched up by the former owners dogs. Usually both. I've never painted damaged woodwork on this level, so I researched until I could research no more and dove in. Mud room was the worst, so why not start there? If I suck at this, better to find out there than on the mantles or staircases, right? Right. Many buckets of TSP, a big ol tub of wood filler, tons of sandpaper, 123 primer, caulk up the wazoo, 1 week and this nifty paint and I am so proud of myself! No one cares about a mud room, except for me. I keep finding reasons to do things in there, to bask in its glory. Husband also enjoys it, but not like I do. Here's what I've found - You HAVE TO properly prep. Clean your surface! TSP or a TSP alternative. If you're painting over oil based paint, you need to sand. Liquid sander (I've used it on outdoor furniture, it worked), whatever, but your old surface needs a tooth. Even if your primer says you don't have to. Just do it. Prime. 123 worked really well for me to cover the very dark green, 2 coats. I know this Bher paint says the primer is built in, but the first coat is ment to be a "primer coat" and you'll STILL need two more coats to cover after a primer coat, like most paint. Not for coverage even, but durability. So save some money and use primer first. This paint is pretty thick, and it sets FAST so if you're painting near an area where you get a breeze, like an open window, or if you aren't a fast painter (like me!) add Floetrol. It's inexpensive and helps the paint lay so much better. I found that less is more with it, so go a little light, you can always add more. March 5, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by bad coverage I had to use 3 to 4 coats of this expensive paint to cover a white wall with a light yellow color satisfactorily. I'm no rookie at painting and used different brands. I'll not be using this brand again. I gave it two stars because it had no odor and the finish sheen was good. But I have better things to do then to paint a wall over and over to make it look good. February 10, 2016
