Answer:
Hi Jesse,
Our Premium Plus Ultra Semi-Gloss Enamel wasn’t designed to hold up to foot traffic, so we wouldn’t recommend applying it to your deck floor. We currently don’t have a floor coating that can be applied to metal, so it's best to reach out to your local Home Depot for a different product that would work.
Good luck with your project!

Our deck railings have never been painted or stained. I power washed them last weekend and now we are ready to paint them white. I was assuming I would need a paint and primer mix. Can you please tell me what you suggest for this project.

FYI - They have never been stained or painted in the past. They were put up a few years ago.

Hello Sara,
Great question! This product is a paint & primer in one, so it's okay to apply it directly to most uncoated woods (bleeding type woods like cedar, Cypress, or redwood would need a separate primer to block any tannins from discoloring the paint). In any case, I would recommend applying our No. 63 Wood Cleaner before applying a coating to your railings. This will thoroughly clean the wood and Read More

Depending on the type of sprayer you have will dictate what to use.
For our Graco line of sprayers, it's recommended to use a .515 or .517 tip for latex paints.
You'll also need to mix the paint with an extender (NOT water) to help with the flow and cleanup during and after spraying. Extenders also slow drying time, allowing the spray to coat evenly even if some areas were oversprayed.

One great extender we sell is Floetrol, it's sold at your local Home Depot in the same area where your paint is as well.

This would depend entirely on the type of paint sprayer you are using. An HVLP sprayer would use somewhere between 10 and 20 PSI normally, but you need a good compressor that can sustain the CFM at that pressure over time. A standard sprayer uses far greater pressure (70-90 PSI normally) and the CFM rating is generally lower. You will need to check the manufacturer specifications for your spray gun to Read More

As for the paint, yes it can be sprayed, although you'll need to thin it out first. You want it to be fairly soupy so that it flows easily through the gun. Read Less

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 542 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by price point I like the product but it is a little pricey. Home Depot sends out coupons to pro customers but they expire to quickly. Or they can not be opened more than three times. It would be nice if they lasted a little longer. July 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not good at all i went to the store and explain what i was looking for my project, i was told that this is the best for what i need, so i bought it, surprise was that when i get home and open it the paint was very thick and i tried to make it thinner using the instruction on the label, unfortunate the paint got bad and i couldn't change it because i open it and follow the instruction on how to make it thinner . 40$ less in my bank account July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent coverage I painted the outside of the house with this paint, it went on with little effort , covered deep grooves. The overall appearance looks great! July 13, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't cover. This paint took three coats to cover. I'd rather have the paint seperate from the primer and have to put on fewer coats. Primer in the paint also seems to make clean-up more difficult. What is the advantage of primer in the paint? No cost savings, harder to use. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Paint Best paint ever, have used it for years, goes on smooth, great coverage and wonderful colors. June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Painting inside rooms This is the paint we use I would say 99 % of the time We have never had a bad experience with this brand of paint I would recommend this to anyone July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Product. This is a very good product. It does have issues sticking to certain types of surfaces. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TERRIFIC PAINT...HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN PAINT DEPT I had bad weathering on my house shingles and trim which had to be scraped down quite a bit to the bare wood so wanted a premium paint that would cover & last. I bought the Premium Plus paint for the trim & shingles and it's coverage is awesome as it also has primer which saves a separate step. The paint is very thick, doesn't drip, and covers nicely, I am doing 2 coats because of the condition of the shingles. I purchased this during Behrs $10.00/gallon rebate which saved me $80 ! My huge complaint: HD customer service in mixing the paint. I specifically wrote down color codes; type of paint needed, -2 gallons Exterior Gloss for trim and 6 gallons Exterior Flat for shingles. After waiting a long time for all the paint to be mixed by a blabbing unfocused associate I checked out and went to load the paint in the car only to discover she made all 8 gallons INTERIOR paint ! I had to go back into the store, stand in line at the return desk to process her error then go back and wait my turn to have all 8 gallons redone. I had ordered High-Gloss for the trim and STILL ended up with Semi-Gloss and ordered Flat for the shingles and ended up with Satin !!! (flat doesn't show the flaws like the satin does) I gave up and took the 2nd mix of paint but NOT happy !!! If you work in the paint department one would expect you would get the paint right especially if instructions are clearly written out for you. Bottom line: when you get paint from HD don't assume they are getting it right and check it for yourself BEFORE they mix it ! July 6, 2016
