Answer:
Hello Eileen,
Thank you for your interest in our products. We do not recommend our paints to be applied over surfaces that would be exposed to to extreme heat. The paint would fail if the surface gets too hot to touch. I’d recommend checking with your local Home Depot representative for their recommendation on a paint that is heat resistant.
Best regards,
Kevin

Answer:
Hi diane,
Our Premium Plus Ultra Interior Semi-Gloss Enamel is a water-based product. If you're looking for an oil-based paint, I recommend checking out our Interior/Exterior Oil-Base Semi-Gloss Enamel, which can be viewed here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-1-gal-white-Semi-Gloss-Oil-Based-Interior-Exterior-Paint-380001/202263895. Answer:
If there is bleeding then apply one coat of a stain blocker such as Kilz Premium Primer. Once dried make sure the stain is not coming through. Then apply one to two finish coats of the Behr Ultra to finish.

When painting wood, should my first coat be a primer on it's own or will this paint and primer be sufficient?

Answer:
Depends on if color of wood (darker, brighter) can bleed through color of paint (lighter, neutral) and whether you did the prep steps recommended on the label. The primer would be needed for blocking out stains that would bleed through and for adhesion on a slick surface.

Answer:
Hello jason,
We appreciate your question. In most cases, our paint is sufficient as it has sealing/stainblocking properties. For woods with tannin bleeds (for example, cedar, cypress, or redwood), we recommend first applying a product like our No. 75 All-In-One Primer. Please be sure to follow all label instructions for a successful project. Well wishes!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We needed some new paint to brighten up my new design studio and this paint got the job done. I also thought it was going to take multiple coats of paint in order to get a really great look, but we only used one coat. October 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Coverage Painted my kitchen cabinets with this product. Coverage was awesome. Looks beautiful. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I was surprised I really didn't think this would cover in one coat. I had stenciled walls and was sure I would be doing a second coat ,especially since I was using a light color. After looking it over, it looks beautiful and only one coat required. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very easy to apply. Great coverage on all surfaces and over previous colors. Very low odor. Reasonably priced AFTER rebates. Like this product better than the Behr Ultra. October 25, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by My walls looked good when finished, but it took two coats, I think it is over priced October 25, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent coverage. Gorgeous color. October 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst paint ever to get an even coat I've been a homeowner for 40+ years, and have many times repainted rooms in the different homes I've owned. This paint was the absolute WORST paint ever for getting an even coat. With this top-of-the-line Behr Marquee paint I had many more what we call "holidays" (spots where the underlying paint showed thru) and "overtimes" (drips and other too-much paint) than with any other paint, including other Behr paints. This was a total surprise, considering that Behr is top-rated by CR, and the total satisfaction that I'd had with other Behr paints. Note: this was my first experience with Behr's Marquee paint, all my previous very satisfactory experience was with their Premium Plus. Maybe I should have used that instead. October 4, 2016
