In store purchase, great color, no overwhelming smell. Product goes on well, has great coverage-has the primer and paint together. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is very thick-at first it was hard to work with but as I worked on the ceilings in each room I got "my groove" working with it. I would purchase again.

I am a decorative painter and also do residential painting. I have always been a Sherwin Williams devotee. I had a customer, within this last year, who insisted on Behr Ultra for the trim job that I was doing. I told him that I used Sherwin Williams paint. He wouldn't hear of it, so I bought a cream-colored paint that would be going over a dark-gold-colored trim. Normally that would take 2-3 coats, with streaking issues. I was astonished as the first coat went on. I only had to do a light, touch-up coat on the second time around. It leveled beautifully and was easy to work with. Soon after that, my husband and I bought an old Victorian house that needed lots of interior painting. I chose the Behr Ultra because of what happened....I had lots of dark, ugly colors to cover. My house now looks absolutely gorgeous and I am a big advocate of Behr Ultra. There were many years where I hated Behr paint and would not use it because it was thin, streaky and would take multiple coats. No more. It is a completely different product and I can't say enough about it. It is also very scrubbable and looks like velvet in my gorgeous Victorian. LOVE IT!

Painting ceilings are a bummer, so when I do paint them, I want it to be right. I have used other ceiling paints that fail to cover spots and end up dripping and spattering everywhere (once even on my contact lens). This stuff does none of that. It easily covers spots (even bad spots) and never drips on me. Two coats of this stuff and whatever is behind it, is long forgotten. Great product. I don't use anything else on ceilings.
One thing to consider when ordering this product: It doesn't cover as much area as cheap paint, so make sure you get enough.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by John Takes two coats, doesn't hide stains, very over priced.
I was very disappointed in this paint. I paid the big bucks for ceiling paint hoping it would cover in one coat and hide some old water stains. It did not. After one coat it looked terrible. Second coat was much better, but I ended up using eight gallons of paint. ($250 to paint a ceiling!) It did not hide the water stains at all. I wound up sealing those with Kilz. It took forever to dry too, count on one coat per day. I should have bought a primer and then cheap ceiling paint. Or used Zinsser ceiling paint, which I usually use, but the Blue Box store was out of it. (I miss Sears paint department!)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Olebundy Excellent ceiling paint
Excellent ceiling paint. Had applied 3 coats of SW Master hide on a flat ceiling and could not eliminate streaks. One coat of Behr Ultra did the trick. Very vivid white as compared to the Master Hide. Be aware it has a very slight sheen to it. Would strongly recommend. Paint and primer in one hid spackle marks perfectly.

Paint stays on the brushes and rollers. It evens out, leaving no lap marks, better than any other ceiling paint I've used.
