This dries fast on walls, not sure about shelves, but I would wait a good 2 days, just to be sure.

Answer:
Hi jdg1i835, Thank you for your question! The dry time is 1 hour to touch and two hours for a re-coat. Darker colors may require additional dry time
between coats. Cooler temperatures or higher humidity may prolong
drying time. After 4 weeks, cured paint film may be cleaned with a mild,
non-abrasive liquid detergent.

Answer:
Hello Curiousaboutcoverage,
We appreciate your question. Yes, it can cover over a dark paint, and it's okay if there are multiple past applications of different paint colors. Based on the new color you choose and the surface porosity, you may have to do a few coats to get the best coverage and workup of the new color.
Well wishes for your project!

Hi jules57,
Thanks for your inquiry! PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA® Interior Satin Enamel is available in thousands of colors. You can either choose from one of over 2,000 colors at the Behr Color Solutions Center, or if you have something you would like to match, you may opt to have one of The Home Depot Paint Associates custom color match to a color of your choice.

Answer:
Hi Joel,
Thanks for your question. Yes, if thinning is needed based on sprayer, thin with water at a rate of no more than 1/2 pint per gallon. Good luck with your project!

Answer:
It's always a wise choice to not thin, but use an extender, in a paint whenever it's going through any sprayer.
We carry paint extenders, like Floetrol, at your local Home Depot. It not only makes the paint flow out easier, but it makes clean up of all of your sprayer and parts much easier.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 860 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sooo Disappointed I have used Behr paints for many years in over 10 different apartments that I have rented. I wanted to paint over a medium purple in a small dining room. This project took me 1/2 a day ton two other occasions and it has never taken more than one gallon pain let alone almost two days. The dining area is small and has only one full wall the other walls have a single door, a double window pane and the entryy wall has two narrow columns. I showed the rep the photo of the current color and he recommended I do the the primer and paint in one. It took me the labor day weekend, a second trip for another gallon of paint because I had to go over it a third time, and still the trims and some areas show a grey like look to them because this paint refused to cover, took forever to dry and was way stronger odor then I am accustomed to. Had I just primed and then painted I would have been done in half the time nevermind the re$ources. Not at all what I thought it would be and I do not feel home depot delivers on its promise with this product. The tinting seem to be ok but instead of what I thought would be a deep coral, its more red :( September 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Coverage Bought this paint because of a rebate promotion. Three coats in one room yielded okay coverage--can still see lines where I cut around the trim--so I primed the next room before using this paint + primer and three coats later, I can still see the difference between the rolled and brushed areas. This paint does not cover well, and it blends horribly. I've been painting for 23 years, and I won't be wasting my time with this junk again. September 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Paint I had no idea what type of paint I needed to purchase, thank God there were people to assist. This paint came out great on the walls with the color I chose. Turns out that I didn't need the expensive stain blocking option since my walls were a flat white (according to my painter) regardless I still prefer this, for the extra cost. April 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did they leave out the primer?? I bought this paint in an olive green to cover over white trim, and it took over 3 coats! I bought this based on past good experience with Behr paints, and the good reviews, but this paint went on like water. I feel like I wasted my money, effort and time. INCREDIBLY disappointed. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't cover old paint Got a gallon of this in "mango tango" to cover a light green. It's like the new paint is transparent it covers so poorly. July 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Performance...does not measure up to marketing description Was extremely disappointed in this paint. Three coats resulted in "barely adequate" coverage. I'm still not completely satisfied with the results, and seriously considering starting over with a different brand paint. I'm certainly not going to buy more of this brand to apply a fourth coat. Equally poor performance in self-priming ("paint and primer in one...") over repaired/fresh drywall as well as covering a previous, only slightly darker, color. June 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom repainted I did my research on paints and some were 60 to 70 dollars a gallon at the paint stores but consumer reports rated behr ultra the best overall. I have to say I was surprised it covered the darker color in one coat. I would highly recommend this paint at 34 dollars a gallon you can't beat it. November 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Baby Bedroom We purchased this paint to paint our new baby's bedroom. The quality was great and it only took 2 coats to cover the previous paint on the walls. We used to buy another brand of paint regularly, but are making the switch to Behr. June 8, 2016
