This paint doesn't adhere to the surface. We used this on new sheetrock and when we put tape (either blue tape or frog tape) on the wall to caulk around tile and vanity top, upon immediately taking the tape off, the paint peeled like a bad sunburn. It wasn't like the paint was just applied either. The paint had over a week to set and it just caused too many issues.

I brought product when on sale. My house will be painted in September. However, Behr was used when my house was pointed in 2000. Based on that, I opted to use Behr again. Plus, the sale helped me make the decision

Covers well over new doors and trim. Needed a different primer before painting previously stained and sanded trim.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Contractor33 Why paint and primer
I was in a bind and needed some paint Home Depot was the closest store that was open. Havent bought Behr in a while because of past experiences. So decided to get the so called better paint. We normaly buy an average of 10 gallons of paint a week on average for jobs. The paint didn't cover very well. The specs say coverage up to 400 sq. ft.. What planet are they on didn't even cover 200 and needed more. Read the fine print it recommends primer. My question is why pay $30 for primer when you can get good primer for about $12 at home depot and have it tinted for one coat of paint. Been painting for 40 years and believe in less material the better.

Does not cover ! Took four coats to cover old paint color on one wall.Yes four coats !! I used regular paint in a lighter color on the other three walls it covered in two coats. Don't waste your money on paint primer in one just buy regular paint ( I tried this at the salesman suggestion thanks for the upsale )

I love to paint! I have painted every room in my home with behr primer, regular behr paint, as well as paint and primer. The new two in one coat really helped speed up my projects. Before the paint and primer, it took about a good coat of primer, and two coats of color. Not to mention how long I had to wait inbetween coats. What the two-in-one does, is only use 2 coats of the paint! Not three coats of two different paints! Economic, and cuts time!
The purpose of this paint is to get the job done in less time, at an affortable price! Regardless of what paint you use, your going to have to paint, at least two coats!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DIYr2001 Love this paint!
Paint is easy to use. Color is consistent from opening can to last drop. Primer and paint in one product is a great advantage in that it covers old paint in one coat when rolled out in even strokes. New paint smell diminishes quickly when room is properly vented. Clean up is fast and easy with warm soapy water. The only con is to be careful removing painter's tape to ensure a clean line is achieved. otherwise any over spill could pull up more paint than just the edge and require touch up.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ExperiencedDIYer Extremely difficult to apply. Terrible looking results.
This paint was extremely difficult to apply. The roller (Home Depot's "best") pulled the paint off the wall as soon as it was applied leaving the undercoat showing through everywhere. Using more paint to try to avoid this left drips / sags everywhere. Re-rolling just a few minutes later to try to fix the drips and sags left a drastically different texture that stood out.
For what it's worth, I am an experienced painter that has painted many rooms many times in the 20 years we've owned this house and never had this much difficulty with a paint.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Shopper Very disappointed, not recommend for new construction!
I bought this paint to cover a brand new construction that already had been primed but I thought the extra primer wouldn't hurt anything. 35 dollars was a lot for a gallon and I put the first coat on and after I had to buy another gallon as paint is thick and didnt cover as much as I hoped...I just put in on this morning and still color is very uneven on walls. I bought the best rollers and paint brushes as it is a brand new addition and I am so disappointed in this product! I guess coat #3 happens tomorrow. Will never use again and do not recommend.

I bought this paint because the first paint didn't cover the wall in one coat as it said on the label. So I bought the bear paint to finish the rest of the walls and this paint worked wonderfully one coat is all it took to cover the entire wall. It was more expensive than the other brands but well worth it I should have bought this paint the first time and would have saved time and money. This will be the brand paint I use from now on.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by johnd Problems with additional paint to finish job-color/number given to another paint color
I went to store to purchase additional 5 gallons of paint. The customer service could not read the labelf rom the old (3months ago) paint 5 gal bucket. They could not find the number in the system and the name had a different color than my original. . We picked out what I though was a similar color based on their recommendation. My original paint was a very light gray. The new paint looked that color, however it was a very very light blue once it was on the walls. I had used the gray on all the walls and ceilings of a 1700 sq ft apartment. I was short the paint for the master bath so used the "BLUE" tone on that one room. Now the balance cannot be used to make repairs and I don't know what color I should have because they messed up the label. I still need the original however the whole wall of paint colors has been deleted in the store and two customer service people could not help me. So I am not happy with the inability to have repair paint for that apartment.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overworkedretiree Surprisingly good coverage
In the process of a major remodel, this was used on new unpainted trim, new primed trim, and dark stained doors and trim. It covered real good with two coats. The only bleed-thru was on some knotty pine and a couple of oak boards. These received several more coats. Some things cannot be covered with paint.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rose707 ultra pure white is NOT good for trim
We have been loyal Behr users for the last fifteen years and usually love it. We have tried the Ultra Premium Plus on interior walls in our house, as well as their ceiling paint, and it's been fine- the ceiling paint is actually really awesome. The wall paint has been similar to their other paints- no issues, worked well, covered in two coats. HOWEVER- when we got this paint in Ultra Pure White for our trim work, it was thin... I don't know if the color they put in the paint thickens it (ultra pure white means NO added color- it's just the color that's in the can), but I wouldn't think that it would. Anyway, it is SOOOO streaky on wood trim (door frames, picture frame wainscoating, board and batten,etc.). It's been a disaster. I researched it and learned to NEVER go back over it with the paint brush so it could level itself out. That must work fine on the walls but on the trim even though I never went back over it the paint just goes on streaky and lumpy. The trim we worked so hard to install looks awful and I'm embarrassed to show it off. We're going to have to sand it all down and redo it with another paint. I don't know what happened with this one- we'll still use it for color on the walls but never again for trim.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jeff Don't buy--worst paint ever used
I've been painting for 30 years--this is the worst paint I've ever used.
1. very thick
2. does not spread well
3. drips/sags very easily (both when brushed on and rolled on)
4. If you use a thinner coat to stops the drips, then it does not cover
5. When removing tape, the paint tears
6. Takes at least 2 coats
My experience was covering over old semi-gloss paint. The old surface was washed then sanded. Maybe this works well on new surfaces, but is a disaster on already painted surfaces.
Home Depot should be ashamed that they are selling this product.
I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this inferior product. Now I have a room that looks like a 5 year-old painted it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Kupp Behr Ultra semi-gloss
I am NOT a professional painter but have painted my homes for the past 60 years. I currently had a bathroom with a very pale yellow semi-gloss color about 4 years old. I wanted to change it to more of a gold. I purchased the Ultra based on the supposed good coverage. I had to go over much of it two and three times. It would not cover well. I used new, good quality brushes and roller. This was the worst paint I have ever used.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by tmom42 Not a happy consumer:(
I have used Behr paint products for years because it has always been a high quality product with fantastic coverage. I think they must have changed there formula because this is the third room I have has nothing but trouble with. It dries unevenly, with some areas drying too quickly. I have had to use three coats. I have never used more than one or two coats. To paint a 6 foot galley kitchen with small breakfast area it took a gallon plus a quart. I went from an antique white to a pale cream. No way I should have needed three coats. I'm happy with the odor and color quality but that is where it ends. I'm very unhappy and won't use this brand again when we paint the exterior and bedrooms this summer.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Susi Got the job done
We decided to paint a couple rooms in our house and I started with 2 bathrooms (1 is a half bath the other a full). I got one gallon of a nice blue and took me only 4 hours to finish each bathroom. One coat was enough, as it covered the wall nicely and evenly. So far I'm happy with it. We will see if it stands the test of time. But I'm going to get a nice pink for my daughters room and get started on that one with Behr as well :)
My bathrooms have no windows so the ventilation fan was necessary to use to get the paint smell out while being in there. Make sure you paint in well ventilated areas!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tutziee Totally impressed
I did a kitchen remodel on a house built in probably late 60's, we really should 've replaced all the sheetrock, but that was over budget so we had to paint the old, dry, DRY sheetrock. We went thru 2 gallons of another brand w/o priming and it sucked right into the wall, looked horrible...I told the lady about this new Behr Premium Plus Ultra and that she should get some. 2 Days later I went back and it looked as if I never painted anything, anyway I used 1 coat of the Behr and it was perfect. No soaking in, no streaks from soaking in, it looked awesome....This was a brilliant idea!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ksguy Good one coat coverage
We used this as the darker of two colors on a horizontally striped wall in my daughter's bedroom. Base coat was I Heart Potion, which provided a good transition coat between the old white to this darker shade. If you're not stingy with the paint, once coat coverage is possible and looks great. Flows nicely off the roller.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy Extremely disappointed in this product. Not worth the extra money spent.
I thought this product was supposed to have great coverage being a paint and primer in one. The paint went on nicely. But it sure doesn't work as advertised. I painted newly installed premium select pine interior window trim and door trim. There wasn't a knot or marking on any of the trim, yet after 3 to 4 coats of this paint, half of them look awful. I have large yellowish brown stains bleeding through the paint. Now I have to go back and sand it all and prime with a real primer and repaint. What a waste of time and money. I bought 6 gallons of this and wish I bought none. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with paint. Live and learn. Always use a real primer before painting. I would not buy this paint again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kissa worst paint ever!!!
Please read all the negative reviews of this paint before purchasing. I have always used Behr in my family's homes and professional remodels, but I will NEVER use this product again. It took 4 coats to cover light blue and 3 to cover light beige. It has cured for a week & still show brush & roller marks, even though we used high quality supplies. When the first coat streaked and blotched, we thought it was our brush/roller, so we replaced them with new, high quality ones... nope. A week later when I removed the painter's tape, it pulled the paint off the walls like it was silly putty. Not only would I not recommend this, I actually told a friend to stay as far away from this product as possible, since she is in the middle of her own bathroom remodel.
