Customer Questions & Answers

I am artist sculptor.....need best white finish paint,,,that will not yellow, applies with brush on sculpture easily,

is this satin finish......can it go over,,,clean bones, what about epoxy glue, is there a base coat that I need?
Asked by: easy
Dear easy, Thanks for posting your question. Linen White #1870 is available in the Satin Enamel finish you are requesting. You can find quart, one gallon and five gallon containers of BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA Exterior Paint & Primer in One at your local The Home Depot store, ready for tinting. This product offers excellent color retention and prevents yellowing over time. It can be used to apply over certain types of epoxy glue depending on compatibility. Test a small area for adhesion and follow the back label instructions for proper preparation. Behr does not recommend using this product to paint clean bones. Good luck with your project.

I am looking for a very light yellow or ivory tone for my living room, is linine white a right choice?is this pure white

Asked by: Lauren
Hi Lauren, Linen White is a perfect choice for your project! It's an off white with yellow/ivory undertones. Another option is Smooth Silk YL-W7, which has a little more ivory than yellow. You can view that color here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-Premium-Plus-Ultra-1-gal-YL-W7-Smooth-Silk-Eggshell-Enamel-Interior-Paint-275001/205293659. I hope this helps!

What are the undertones of this color? I am looking for something that is neutral and has a yellow tone to it.

Asked by: AJ
Hi AJ, Thanks for your question. Linen White is a great neutral with a yellow tone to it.

I'm looking for a linen color with NO yellow in it. Is this the best bet?

I'm bulding a new home and want one color palette throughout.
Asked by: TDp
Hello and thank you for your question. Linen White may still have a yellow tone to it, so we suggest that you purchase an 8oz sample to test on your walls. Also, our color experts recommend these colors if you want to avoid some yellow – Antique White 23, Swiss Coffee 12 and Mourning Dove OR-W12. Good luck with your project!

5 gal. #70 Linen White Matte Interior Paint is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 487.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coverage We just completely renovated a new home and we used Behr Ultra for every room, except one. It goes on easily and leaves a beautiful finish. We bought the Behr Marquee one coat coverage for the largest space and I wish I had bought it for all the rooms as it definitely did the job. We have always chosen Behr. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Make Better Paint! I decided to use Behr for my first home that's getting renovated after seeing it get good scores in a reputable magazine and have always heard it was good paint. However, the paint was so thin, it was almost the consistency of water. The whole house needed two coats, but the living room needed three coats after the paint bled on the walls! I decided to get a competitor for the third coat that did wonderfully at hiding what Behr failed at. Also, all the colors I picked out came out at least one to two shades darker than the swatch! I'm disappointed and very upset that I paid good money for paint that wasn't that great and then have to buy a competitor to fix problems which means shelling out more money in an already tight budget. Not to mention time wasted on labor that puts me behind schedule. Now I have hope this paint is going to last in the long haul because I don't want to be painting again in the next five years due to the paint not holding up on the walls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing coverage and color selection. I've recently taken on the project of repainting an entire house (my first house) and did not automatically go with Behr paint which was a huge mistake. The first two rooms I painted turned out horrible. The paint did not cover well and was more expensive and it also ran. As I moved onto the bedroom I decided to switch paint and went with this brand. The difference was immediately apparent. This paint covers so well with so little. It is also very reasonably priced and the color selection is amazing. I will never be using anything else. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed With 20 years painting experience, I used Behr Ultra Premium because my client selected a Behr Colour. Because it was a red-burgundy shade, I specifically asked in a deep tint primer was necessary--I was assured the paint would cover in two coats--just like the red paint board that was displayed in the sales area to show "two coat coverage." Needless to say, the coverage was terrible. Five coats were needed and that is still not enough! What a sham! Instead of one gallon, three gallons were needed! The price may be better than other premium paints but it certainly costs more in time and coverage. This paint may be satisfactory for "weekend painters," but it clearly does not meet the professional's standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Painted the entire house We repainted the entire house with this product. We had a couple of rooms with very dark paint and painted with a much lighter, gray ("Natural Gray") color and coverage was great! Will definitely use this Behr product for future interior paint projects [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
