I am planning to paint the ceiling of my unfinished basement. House is 4 years old with galvanized metal duct work. Do I need to prime the ducts after cleaning with water or can I just apply this paint directly.

Then, please clean the surface by scrubbing with a detergent and water solution. After rinsing with water and allowing the surface to dry, please prime with a product like our No. 75 All-In-One primer on the same day as the cleaning. Finally, you'd be ready to paint. Please note that if the duct work gives off extremes of heat or cold, then this could reduce the lifespan of our coating. Best wishes for your project!

Answer:
Hi A2,
Thanks for your question! Our Premium Plus Ultra Interior Matte paint has primer in it already, so there's no need to apply a separate primer to your wooden ceiling. Your first coat will act as your primer coat, and any additional coats after that (1-2) will build up color and a uniform finish. Best wishes for your project! - Sara

5 gal. #N160-7 Brown Velvet Matte Interior Paint is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 821.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice coverage This is a very nice paint with very little smell and virtually no splatter when rolling on walls. Also, you actually get a full gallon of paint. Many paint company's are now only giving you 116 oz. I still did two coats to get excellent coverage, but I'm very picky.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Make Better Paint! I decided to use Behr for my first home that's getting renovated after seeing it get good scores in a reputable magazine and have always heard it was good paint. However, the paint was so thin, it was almost the consistency of water. The whole house needed two coats, but the living room needed three coats after the paint bled on the walls! I decided to get a competitor for the third coat that did wonderfully at hiding what Behr failed at. Also, all the colors I picked out came out at least one to two shades darker than the swatch! I'm disappointed and very upset that I paid good money for paint that wasn't that great and then have to buy a competitor to fix problems which means shelling out more money in an already tight budget. Not to mention time wasted on labor that puts me behind schedule. Now I have hope this paint is going to last in the long haul because I don't want to be painting again in the next five years due to the paint not holding up on the walls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paint. The great neutralizer! This paint and primer in one is amazing. We actually had a wall in two different rooms that had been accent walls. After eight years I was ready to change up the look. We painted over the dark accent color and it covered the wall and the old color in two good coats of the lighter paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best There Is! I've been a homeowner for over 30 years and always have some type of remodeling project going on. This year as I'm going through repainting rooms I switched to Behr. This is the only paint I've ever bought that is truly one coat. It goes on smooth with no splatter & actually covers, even a darker color, in on coat. Do yourself a favor, start with this paint - unless you feel like using a lesser twice as much of another brand and a lot more cleanup. Excellent product, highly recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Behr Premium Plus Ultra Paint & Primer in One Matte Finish Exterior Paint The problem with this so-called premium paint is the sheen. You end up with a finish rife with shine stains, for lack of a better description. It doesn't matter how careful you are or how many coats you apply-it's a byproduct of the paint....Avoid !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice paint but does not cover in one coat! Did not cover in one coat as stated. It took 2 coats to cover over a light gray wall. I also bought a yellow to go over a light gray wall , did not cover in one coat

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Behr Premium Plus Ultra Great paint. Covered unprimed sheet rock in one coat. I have tried other paints but Behr is my go to paint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from behr paint had to do a 2nd coat to cover streaks, unevenness in paint..thought paint plus primer was supposed to stop this..
