Should this paint be used on kitchen cabinets?

This paint is noted to be for moderate traffic areas, wall & trim. Should this paint be used on kitchen cabinets, or is it more of a wall paint only? I just paid a contractor to have my kitchen cabinets painted and he used this paint. #1 - it did not cover as if it had primer in it. I can tell by looking the cabinets should have been primed with a separate product. He used 2 coats and they did not cover, I see wood grain through the coverage and cracks from that grain. BEHR phone support tells me it takes this paint FOUR weeks to cure before it gets hard, and this paint is suitable for cabinets. Really? This is cabinet paint suitable for kitchens and it takes 4 weeks to cure? What about grease, oils, and other kitchen "facts" that would definitely affect paint within that 4 week cure period. The eggshell finish is flat, at the most matte, and is not going to clean, period, the way the finish is now. I'd really like an answer as to whether this paint should be used on kitchen cabinets or if I have an escalating, unfixable, and expensive mess on my hands.

Hi Susan,
Sorry to hear about this! While the paint does take 4 weeks to fully cure, it should be dry to the touch within 1 hour, and okay for light cleaning after just a day. Sorry for the misunderstanding! I agree with you about Eggshell- it is a duller finish so it won't be as resistant to scrubbing and cleaning as a Satin or Semi-Gloss. Answer:
Hello vickstr,
We appreciate your interest in our paint. This one is definitely good to use on the interior of your garage, and since it has primer built into it, a separate primer wouldn't be needed, even on new drywall. Just note that multiple coats may be needed depending on the color chosen and the surface porosity.
Well wishes for your painting!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good paint this paint goes on well and covers nicely. We did two coats and I would say the walls we were covering needed both coats. Clean up was easy and overall a good value. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This does not match the label on the top of a one gallon can that was supposed to be the same. The paint was okay it went on easy and the finish wos good and easy to clean up while it is still wet. July 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A lot of money for the quality This is a paint that has primer and paint in one. However painting over a very very light beige color and it took 3 coats on all walls before you couldn't see thru it, even with very thick coats. Paint either needs to be thicker or not say it has a primer it in. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BAEHR PAINT REVIEW Good Quality Easy to apply good coverage Good coverage August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great paint - even the painter loved it. Truly great one coat paint - excellent product, good value and worth money. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than Sherwin Williams I bought an older home that needs a lot of paint inside. I picked Sherwin Williams paint in Agreeable Grey. I painted my laundry room with the SW paint and it was very disappointing. So I decided to go to Hone Depot and have the color matched. I painted my bedroom with Behr and it was a much better paint. Better coverage for sure and I liked the final finish of the Behr paint much better. The SW paint was supposed to be the same finish but it had more of a chalky finish. I will continue to use Behr paint. I have a lot more painting to do! May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great paint Great paint...covers most wall's with just 1 coat... May 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Coverage bought behr 2050. It covered great and didn't have much of a smell. Took in our sticker with the formula to Home Depot and they ended up giving me behr 2750, which is a higher priced piant. The lable looked a little different, but it was behr and it was interior eggshell and the color name was the same. I took it home spent 8 hours finishing up my house, only to find the next day, the sheen is different and the 2750 doesn't cover worth a darn. I clearly shows roller marks. 2050 went on perfect with no roller marks and an egg shell sheen. 2750 appears to be flat. Very disapointed in the results and the a wasted Sunday. March 18, 2013
