I wanted to paint my room mermaid treasure. I live in a moble home and was wondering if I can paint over the wooden paneling in my room. Also if I can paint wooden paneling do I need to use a separate primer. The paint that I want to use is the BEHR Premium Plus Ultra. This paint already has primer in it but should I paint my room with the primer first and then add the behr paint.

Dear Miranda,
BEHR PREMIUM PLUS ULTRA® Interior Paint is a paint and primer in one product and can be used to paint over wood panel without a separate primer. Use this product as a primer for properly prepared uncoated or painted interior surfaces, including woods that contain tannins (two primer coats required for redwood and cedar). The first one or two coats will seal the properly prepared surface and the subsequent coats will deliver hide and color. Certain colors may require more than one coat for complete hide. CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful teen girl's turquoise / teal room! The color "Mermaid Treasure" is gorgeous! The paint and supplies cost us about $110. We chose a satin finish and used a 3/4" nap roller. The paint went on easily and dried quickly. It dries darker than it looks in the can. Be sure to use a good bit on the roller so there are no areas missed. We did have to go over a few areas after it dried. If you take a break, be sure to wrap your roller in a bag and wash the pan. It cleans up well with soap and water. The paint does not have a "strong" smell, but when you go out and back in you do notice it. My 13 year old daughter LOVES her "new" bedroom! I have to say it turned out exactly how we wanted it! Picture included! May 8, 2012
