Why is this paint not sold in stores?

It is sold in stores, the real question is why do you have to wait 11 days to pick it up when it's already in stock??

I was wondering if the paint in the 8 oz. sample size is exterior paint, or is it just for color testing? We have been asked to do a small outdoor project with many colors, so the small size would be ideal if it will withstand the weather...
Asked by: countrycrafts
Hello, Great question. The 8oz samples were designed just to test the color and they are filled with interior paint. We would not recommend them for an exterior project. Best regards, Kevin

Can this be used to paint a brick fireplace exterior? Withstand the temperature?

Asked by: Paintie
Hello, Thank you for your interest in our products. Our Paint can be used on the outside brick of a fireplace. However, if the surface is too hot to touch while the fireplace is on, then we would not recommend it on that surface. Best regards, Kevin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a Great Paint It's obvious that some people just do not know how to paint. This paint is by far the best paint out there. Coverage: is great on new surface it even worked well in my Semi-Gloss bathroom without sanding for some strange reason. Absolutely no odor which is great. Value: It's on the high end but like they say You get what you pay for. I laugh sometimes when contractor's say it doesn't work. FYI: Does not work well if your going over Oil based paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this paint -- it is pricey but it did a GREAT job! When we moved in our walls were covered in FLAT blue painted walls,,,blue was not a color that looked right - and flat paint showed each and EVERY mark - we purchased this paint on the reviews from Consumer Reports - It costs a lot more than other paints, but if you don't want to go back and paint again in a few years, we really liked this option. Despite what they tell you at the paint counter, you will PROBABLY need two coats, especially if covering a darker wall color. This paint stacks right up with other independent paint store paints - I just wish that the price was a bit more along the lines of the average Home Depot Shopper,,,,we go to HD to NOT have to pay the prices of those 'independent paint stores'! That being said, we are very happy with the coverage and the richness and depth of the colors - they look like they were professionally painted!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very difficult to avoid roller edge marks For my HD video projection surface, it was recommended that I use Behr Silver Screen. I painted a portion of a wall with Silver Screen, then tested the projected image, which I found far too dark. My dilemma was to select a paint which would easily cover the Silver Screen and be quite bright for the projection surface. I selected Behr Ultra Pure White Interior flat. The paint is very thick; more like a liquid surface application than a traditional paint. It did cover the Silver Screen, with no show through, but it took two fairly heavy coats. Any pressure on the edges of the roller left lines that required continuous back-rolling. The finished wall looks terrific, but it took me as long to paint one wall as it normally would to paint an entire room. The continuous back-rolling to remove roller lines took more time than the actual application. After the job was completed, I called the local Home Depot paint department, just to ask if others had encountered this problem. The fellow to whom I spoke said that most professionals add a half to a pint of Floetrol Paint Conditioner to every gallon of Behr Ultra Interior. That eliminates the problems I encountered. I am very pleased with the final result. Although I disdain doing so, I've painted hundreds of rooms. During my university years, I spent most weekends painting apartment units and decades later still paint for friends and family. I would not consider using Behr Ultra Interior again, without adding Floetrol to the mix.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A nightmare on woodwork I agree with "contractor". Rolling this paint is "okay" but not great. Even with copious amounts of Flowtrol, this paint will not spread well by brush. It dries almost on impact, and causes pulling and and brush marks. It also does not hide well. Rolling off white over a light beige required 2 and even 3 coats. Brushing ultra white semi gloss over well scrubbed and sanded light beige woodwork required 3-4 coats. It does NOT cover or stick like a good primer, and will even slide over the surface. Use a primer, and Behr premium instead, for flawless woodwork. As a "primer and paint in one" it may be just "okay" over an unfinshed surface, but DO NOT waste your time on a previously painted surface. As a side note, I also tried Valspar "all in one" from Lowes, with the same results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase I am very pleased with this product and the way it goes on. It covers very well and I expect that it will hold up as well as other Behr products I have used in the past. I highly recommend it to others as a better product than that sold by Home Depot's competitors. It provides top quality as well as a competitive price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not waste your time or money We have used Behr paint for the past few years to help us paint interior and exterior of our home. So when I started a project (painting a dresser) I went straight to Behr. I thought I was smart skipping a step by buying paint and primer in one. Boy was I wrong. I bought red. 4 coats later and i am done. Does it look great. Mmph, good enough I guess. It BARELY coats. Didn't go on well with a brush, so I switched to a small roller. It's going to have to do. I'm just very very disappointed I did not buy primer and paint separately. PLEASE just do NOT make the same mistake as I did. Maybe this works better on a wall, I'm not sure?
