Answer:
The company replaced the 1450 EC with a 1520 EC (I know different number) but the hinges on the 1520 EC are much better... I have three toilets and the hinges keep breaking on the 1450 EC.

Answer:
Hi Bernie,
The difference between the 1500EC and 1450EC is design. They are both elongated molded wood seats with Easy Clean & Change hinges.
The other real difference is the 1450EC is commonly found in stores while the 1500EC is an online item.
I hope that helps!

Answer:
Hi Albert,
Unfortunately no, we don't sell replacement hinges. For plastic seats, the hinges are molded into the seat and are not replacable. For molded wood seats, once screws are removed, the screw hole can be stripped, causing the hole to not hold screws up to our safety and warranty levels.

Good Morning, Gertrude,
In 1988, Bemis Manufacturing Company began to transition to water-based paints. Today, all molded wood seats produced at Bemis use water based paints. This environmentally friendly alternative significantly reduced volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions as illustrated below when our product was compared to imported seats. Cleaning with just a mild hand soap and water will help maintain a glossy finish to your seat while killing germs. If you are still concerned about fading color or scratch marks, we recommend you try our plastic seats. The color is incorporated all the way through the seat and our durable plastic resists chips and scratches well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Toilet Seat! Very easy to install and looks and feel great!!!!! June 24, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Porous= stains stay Only problem I have (but big enough problem) is that although we cleaned it regularly and it had light use, the slightest stain stays. Somehow the material absorbs it and won't let it go. And a toilet seat is bound to get some "liquid/splatter" fall on it at some point. So it looks dirty even when it's just been cleaned. And I repeat: we took really good care of it. Very poor quality. October 9, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JUNK!!!!! Toilet seat broke in less than a week. Installed the second one and we're keeping our fingers crossed. What's amazing is that we've had two of the same brand, same model seats for eight years. I'm guessing it's made in China, like everything else. Wife says you get what you paid for. April 14, 2015
