I have broken one of these and my husband and I are between 190 and 235 lbs. I have never, in my life, had a toilet seat crack before, like this one did I see the suggestion to buy a solid plastic one but would assume a standard residential toilet seat should last more than a few months The first one did "die" at the age of 12 due to worn out hinges. It was not this brand but the brand o the toilet.

I do think this is relevant to the question about weight limits as the question is about them. I believe the issue is the lack of support in the middle of the seat. Read Less

I have broken two of these in less than a year. Can't buy another one - first time I thought it was a fluke. Second time it is the product. Breaks in the same place both times. And not over any weight limit - definitely under 300 pounds.

My guess, about 5 lbs. Two adults in the 250lb range used the seat for less than 10 weeks and it snapped in half.

Answer:
I have never seen weight limits, however, the problem is the amount of torque applied when rotating on the seat which will be more damaging to wood than to plastic. If weight is a concern, I would look for the most sturdy plastic seat made by anyone.

No weight restrictions to my knowledge, and as an engineer I can see no purpose in a weight restriction as long as the seat is used for the purpose so obviously intended.

Hi GAques,
Bemis doesn't have any formal weight restrictions on molded wood seats. We do test our molded wood seats with a weight up to 300 lbs on what we call our "rocker" test. This is a test of putting a 300 lbs bag on a given model design and rocking it back-and-forth for several cycles.

Answer:
Sta-Tite references the bolt used to hold the seat to the toilet. You can find both regular and slo-close seats from many different manufacturers with the Sta-Tite bolt system.

Answer:
this is not a slow close seat. It is one of the most solid and stable seats, but it does crack. If it cracks within first year take it back to HD in a plastic bag and they will replace it.

Thank you for your inquiry. Model number 1526CH is not a slow close seat. In regards to the STA-TITE® Seat Fastening System® ; it eliminates loose seats. With a stronger and longer-lasting attachment, you no longer have to deal with a loose toilet seat every few weeks.
Kindest Regards,
Charmaine

Perhaps at a really well stocked hardware store. The bolt does not have a head so it may be harder to find. Take the other bolt and see what they have.

Not sure what you are measuring to/from. This seat has 19 inches from seat to water. So, seems to meet your requirements to insure that dangling body parts don't dip in the water.

Answer:
you need to rethink your question. You would need a step stool to get on toilet that had an 18 inch high toilet seat when added to the toilet itself. All the elongated seats are about 18.5 inches in length as almost all common elongated toilets accommodate an 18 long seat. If you have a different sized toilet, you need to contact the maker.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by let's hope the 3rd times the charm... until last night I never read the reviews on this, glad I did. I have gone through two before this one and thought that my guest was a little too heavy and kept cracking it. turns it that the bumpers make a HUGE difference in it. I found a 4 pack of bumpers in the same isle for about $3, put the two large ones on the back side like the other 99% of seats do, and the two little ones towards the front by the ones that are already there. now you'll have a normal seat! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks to be the best built seat that I had to pick from The seat is well built with steel hinges. That's what broke on the old one ( Plastic Hinges ) February 23, 2016
