Rated 1 out of 5Â by Garry Bought 3. 1 Broke, one won't stay up.
When we moved into a new house, we bought 3 new toilet seats just to make the bathroom look a little nicer. Be bought these because the metal hinge looked strong, and the other fixtures were satin nickel.
Of those three, one immediately had issues. It wouldn't stay up. You could adjust it a little and it would be ok for a week, but then eventually you'd have to do it again. It appears that the hinge wasn't installed properly on the seat. On a second identical toilet it works fine.
On the third toilet the seat broke rendering it useless unless you want pinched when you sit down. I don't.
My recommendation? Avoid. 1 out of 3 isn't a good track record.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Vote Improved design for a durable product
We replaced our Wooden Bimis toilet seat after about 20 years of use, the nylon hinge pin had sheared on one side. The replacement is also wooden and has an upgraded hardware design...a special stud washer centers the hinge stud in mounting hole and the stud retaining nuts have a break away feature where the outer half of the nut breaks off when the max torque is applied. This was a quick and easy installation that I expect to last another 20 years. Outstanding, quality product.

Much better than the lid that came with our new toilet. Very solid/sturdy, brushed nickle fasteners look nice.

Needed a new seat that didn't start coming loose and sliding to one side. So far its doing a great job and very solid.
