So in order to attach a regular toilet seat to the temporary high-rise seat I purchased(for after my knee surgery), the screw for your Bemis needs to be able to be removed in order to use the extra long screw that comes with the high-rise seat.Is there any way your screw can be removed from the plactic part that it sets in??I love your soft close toilet seats so I hope there's a way this can be accomplished. If not can I somehow purchase this part before the screw is added?I would need four of them because I purchased two high-rise temporary toilet seats for two separate bathrooms. Please tell me you can help!! Thank you,Sandi

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Toilet seat will not stay in the "up" position This is the worst toilet seat I have ever owned. After installing it and 2 months later, I took it off and threw it away. The toilet seat itself will not stay in the upright position. Use your imagination for how this impacts the toilet's user. Never again will I buy this brand. July 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Two years This toilet seat broke after 2 years of normal use. The soft close mechanism seems to have froze. I did not realize it was frozen until the hinge broke free from the frozen pin mechanism. Now the lid won't stay open. The toilet seat is now garbage. I've never seen a toilet seat break after such a small period of time. I will not be purchasing a Bemis seat again. January 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Broke in less than a year. We bought 3 of these and 2 have already broken after a year of normal use. The 3rd one didn't break because that bathroom is a guest bathroom. Both broke at the hinge. I suggest you spend a little more for a higher quality seat. January 18, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Slooowwww Close I purchased this seat for the price and slow close feature as I have one with slow close on another toilet in our house and like it. However this one is more like a VERY VERY SLOW close. It seems to take forever for the seat to close. I guess I should have spent more and gone with the same brand I have in the other bathroom. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fastener is way over designed The price and function are fine but the installation is asinine. What should take 2 minutes with a bolt and wing nut takes 15 minutes with multiple pieces. Talk of "the right torque" is rediculous - it's a toilet seat for Pete's sake. December 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Can't use disinfectant cleaner? I purchased 2 from the store. When I opened the package, there was a printed slip of paper inside saying that it can only be cleaned with mild soapy water, and to avoid detergents, disinfectants and aerosol cleaners. The package says nothing about care instructions on the outside, and I believe that disinfecting is important for a toilet seat. I am annoyed that I have to spend time going back to return this item. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fit and function for the price! For under twenty bucks I was able to replace the cheap plastic seat that came with my Koehler toilet. This seat although cheap in price seems better than the OEM seat for my toilet; the finish is glossy, the color is nice and bright and it sits very well atop my throne. Installation was very easy - basically you tighten these bolts until the bottom breaks off, that's the way they're engineered to tell you that they're perfectly torqued. I was able to remove the old seat, clean the toilet and have the new seat on in less than 15 mins. Those that complain that the seat is cheap must be expecting something made of solid gold for twenty bucks, common sense says that if you want fancy you better pay for fancy, otherwise this is a very serviceable seat. I don't agree that it is flimsy, I am 260 lbs and the seat doesn't move around or flex when I sit on it. The only way this seat would have any give is if it was incorrectly installed. Yes this seat comes with a warning label not to use abrasives or disinfectants, but this does not mean you cannot disinfect your toilet. It means you need to exercise a bit of common sense to employ cleaners that are not going to damage the finish, dull the color or compromise the materials. This seat is glossy and I can imagine that if it is scrubbed with abrasives that the seat would get dull and scratched up. I can also imagine that certain chemicals eat, deteriorate or soften the plastic material causing premature failure. I have been using Pine-Sol, Fabuloso, Lysol, Comet, Ajax and have not come across any issues. I think that those pamphlets are just dummy labels to keep dummies from destroying their seat with inappropriate chemicals. I really like that you can't slam the lids on this model, you just tap it over and it closes. October 24, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good seat, easy to clean I used to buy $10-15 wood composite seats. I've been through many and all of them absorb urine. I have 2 boys and after a month of use the seats had yellow and brown spots on under side that bleach did not remove. This seat is plastic and it is not stained yet. I wipe it as often as I wiped the "wooden" ones and it is still looking new after a month of use. The seat is also quite comfortable to sit on and fits my toilet perfectly. Closes quetly - both the seat part and the cover. It comes with hardware that is packed in a small bag and appears to be pretty tight and reasonably good. I plan to buy one more for another bathroom.
