Customer Questions & Answers

Why is one 12" way more expensive than a 24 or 36"??

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Gmantwo
It is a heavier clamp. The bar and clamping jaws are heavier duty.

12 in. K-Body REVO Parallel Clamp with Composite Plastic Handle and 3-3/4 in. Throat Depth is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty Clamps These clamps are really well made. The acme type screw allows a lot of clamping force to be delivered and parallel faces make for perfect glue ups. They produce nearly as much force as my pipe clamps. The best made and most versatile clamps in my shop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Clamps I've always been a fan of pipe clamps due to their versatility and low cost, but after trying out these parallel bar clamps, I may well be a permanent convert. They're so easy to use, and they provide amazing clamping power! Two of the biggest advantages are that I no longer have to worry about are inadvertently racking my work piece or staining it with the black pipe I usually use for my pipe clamps. I checked for parallel on these bar clamps while they were loaded, and if the work piece is up against the bar, there's absolutely no deflection that I could measure. If I clamped the work piece at the very end of the jaws, then it would pull slightly out of parallel (1/8" over the width of the jaws). Don't worry about the strength of the pretty plastic exterior on the clamp surfaces. The interior construction providing all the force is metal. The plastic jaw covers just give it a softer and larger clamping surface so you don't mar the work piece by applying too much force. They also keep glue from getting on the rest of the clamp. Converting these clamps into spreaders is a snap. Just pull the plastic stop off on the end, and slide the adjustable jaw off. Then turn it around and slide it back on, and you're good to go! The fixed jaw already has a clamp surface pad on the other side, so you don't have to worry about flipping that one around. I was happy to find that the listed length was actually the maximum size of a work piece that the clamps could handle, rather than just the length of the bar. In fact, if you take the end stop off, you can manage another 7/8", bumping the capacity up to 12 7/8". It may not have as much clamping power at that length though, since the clamp will be using the end of the bar, which has a hole through it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Clamps On the Market As a woodworker, tools can make or break the way a project comes together. Over the years, as you become better at your craft, you come to realize that spending a little extra money on certain tools is ultimately indispensable. Such is the case with clamps. Bessey clamps are by far the finest I've used. They are solidly constructed and have never failed me. They are the strongest, most accurate extra set of extra hands a woodworker can ask for. Do yourself a favor and save your pennies to buy these extraordinary clamps. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality clamp This is a great parallel clamp, head and shoulders above the typical bar clamp that most of us struggle with using. The weight is a bit on the heavy side, but you can’t have strength and light weight. The clamp tightens easily and stays parallel. I liked the no mar jaws which are replaceable. You can purchase an adapter which allows you to join two clamps for larger projects. The back of the clamp allows for you to stand them upright while setting up the work. Overall these are an excellent quality clamp, they are not cheap, but that money shows itself in the quality and the design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable clamping power The 12 inch Bessie K-Body Revo Clamp is, to me the absolutely perfect clamp.and will safely clamp up to 14 3/8 inch with the end standoff and soft clamp surfaces removed. The clamp jaw depth is right where specified. They come equipped with tough composite standoffs and jaw faces that protect delicate surfaces. The jaws easily speed shift open or closed and the tightening power is phenomenal without tearing the skin or bruising hands. They are packed 2 to a set. Yes they are heavy but well worth it. I clamp them on a 2x4 bench leg for storage

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, quality clamps in small sizes I use parallel clamps exclusively. Yes, they are pricey but once you use them you will never want to go back to a bar or pipe clamp. However on smaller boxes or other items, using my larger parallel clamps is a bit cumbersome and awkward. Not to mention these clamps are quite heavy. Enter the 12" k bodies. The perfect size for small glue ups. The 3 3/4" throat depth makes these perfect for dovetailed drawer glue ups as they apply even pressure over a large surface. Bessey parallel clamps are by far my go-to. I have a large collection of JET and Jorgensen parallel clamps, but always reach for the Bessey. They require the least amount of fussing, which is important when working with some PVA glues that have a short open time. I'm definitely going to stock up on these 12" clamps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Size, Big on Quality Features. These 12 in. K-Body clamps are the ideal size for those small clamping and repair projects. The large clamping pads provides greater clamping surface than any other clamp of the same size. The quality built into the construction is remarkable. Although small in size, nothing is left out from it's larger clamps. The clamping pressure goes beyond what you would ever need. It's the perfect all around clamp to have within your workshop. Well worth the investment.
