Yes you can use the CITRUSGAIN fertilizer. Just be sure that you use a well-draining soil like a palm and cactus mix for your potting soil. Apply the fertilizer every 2-3 months.
Pineapple plants do not like to have their feet wet. A damp soil is good, wet is not.

If you have your pineapple plant indoors, you will only need to water it about once a week. Be sure to place the water on the soil and not the plant. Wet leaves can lead to fungus on the leaves.
It will take about 20 months or longer to produce a ripe fruit on your new pineapple plant.
