What is the little plastic wrench for?

I purchased one of the jacks and I don't know what the plastic wrench is for. Nothing was in the manual.
Asked by: Jim
The plastic wrench can be used in case of loss of power. There is a little rubber stopper on the bottom that covers a hole in the bottom of the jack. You would insert the plastic wrench and use the jack manually in case the car battery should die.

Because of our age, my wife and I need help with jacking the Highlander to change the tire. This jack does work. On the down side, it is not quite tall enough to get the tire off the ground, a problem I fixed with a 2 X 6 X 9" block of wood. Luckily I tried it in the garage before I really needed it. Also, it sounds like it is really straining to lift the Highlander. I tested it on the left front corner just behind the wheel, and the left rear corner just in front of the wheel. If I was planning on using it frequently, I would go with a taller and more powerful electric jack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Design Critique. A nicely engineered package. Everything fits neatly within the plastic container. More attention should be paid to the design of the latches. My latches were extremely difficult to pop loose without using a tool. I filed the plastic edges smooth to where I could unlatch the box without having the latches pop open by themselves. This was a delicate operation. Collapses low enough to fit underneath the suspension of my sports car. Current draw is a bit high but tolerable for a cigar lighters outlet that are usually fused at 12 amps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing to happen to jacks. I am very satisfied with product. I lifted up my 3500 dually, so I know I can lift up any other vehicle I have. I do recommend it to just anyone that wants to make lifting a vehicle easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ,12 V car jack Jack was pretty much what I expected. It sounds like it strains when raising the vehicle but had nmko issues in lifting it. Motor remained cool to the touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A different kind of a jack. I received the jack within just a few days after ordering it. I tried it out on my car which it preformed very well, but for me, the real reason I bought it was to lift the whole body off my VW Trike, because when I had to work on the engine the fiberglass body covered it up so much that I would have to completely remove the body. Now, with a hinge on the front of the body and the jack, which I hard wired into the electrical circut, lifts the body with the push of a button. I have already had to use it when I needed to rebuild my engine. It saved about three hours of work and now I can lift it myself instead of getting 3 other neighbors to pick it up for me. Thanks for a great tool at a good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked exactly as I had hoped -very pleased Needed to raise and lower a large sign and light bar. Jack works great Be sure to measure the ACTUAL LIFT of the jack before taking final measurments - jack DOES NOT go as high as advertised.- other than that, I would buy it again for my purpose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent for price I needed a low clearance jack for my Corvette and thus filled the bill. It lifts slowly but gets the job done. I've only used it once so it remains to be seen on how well it holds up.
