Customer Questions & Answers

Would the Husky 30 Gal. 175 psi High Performance Quiet Portable Electric Air Compressor work with this sandblaster?

Asked by: bigfoot
The blaster requires between 65 and 125 psi which almost any compressor can supply. The important requirement is how many cubic foot per min. of air your compressor can supply. This blaster requires 6 to 25 cfm. Read the specs of your compressor before you blame the sand blaster when your compressor isn't up to the job.

sorry if this a wayyyyyyy newbie question. I get confused on cfms at different PSIs. My question is will it work occasionally(10-15 minutes) digging out rust on my project car quarter panels et al. My compressor is a vertical DeVilbiss, 25 gal, 5.5 hp, displacement 11.9 cfm, 8.3 scfm at 40 psi and 5.8 at 90 PSI Thanks in advance - i am getting tired of hand sanding tight little corners. Have a great day, tim,.,

I am using a vertical Harbor Freight compressor (which probably is close). I'm running a max psi which is around 100/125. Adjusted to get rust off will require a lot of air pressure and not so much media. Expect compressor to turn on after a couple of minutes and probably 5 minutes before air buildup again. Be sure and wear that hood (you could loose an eye)!

Can this be used on tractors that are metal

Absolutely. I'm refinishing a 1986 JD 750. Worked great getting all the "Nasty" off.

Don't use a small compressor, need a pretty constant 100+ PSI. The lower and upper air feeds into the tank need to be adjusted. Takes a while to get this right and I suspect it will change depending on the media. You need air at a high pressure and not much sand. Text in the manual? about NOT using sand which I suspect is a liability wording. They do call it a media blaster. Once I had it adjusted I was able to sand blast the sheet metal for a pellet stove which I was repainting.

Despite many attempts, could not get the Blaster to work well with removing paint from wood trim. Trim came from a 100 year old house with multiple layers and we were trying to avoid having to strip it with chemicals but it was the only option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from generic The product if fine, EXCEPT that I bought what was sufficient for sand blaster (never owned one); however, when sand would not flow under normal operating pressure, I checked owners' manual NOTHING INDICATED. I then called the factory with that question. "80 grit or finer". HELLO? nothing indicated in owners manual?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from black bull sand blaster I purchased this product for a small project and totally loved it how ever I found the user hose to be a little short so i replaced it with a 12foot high pressure hose from my hardware store and found it to be a much better working length. I was very impressed for the price and much better then a siphon blaster by a long shot. A big thumps up for this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not To Bad Came with handles on backwards, the air line that the media travels in first busted off the nozzle, then busted off again at the bottom of tank. Tightened the clamps and it seems to be working well. Overall for the price I don't think you can beat it. Just make sure its assembled right and tighten up clamps before use.
