Answer:
it came with a charger. you disconnect the battery from the drill and put it in the charger. when you want to use it, take the battery out of the charger and insert into the drill. You can leave this one in the charger all the time, it will not over-charge.

I keep running into small projects that need just a little more power than the electric screwdriver. I'm tired of hauling out the corded drill to pre-drill holes so that the screwdriver can drive the screws all the way in. One review of this drill/driver said that it wouldn't drive a screw into pine boards, but another said it would drive screws into 2x4s. Has anyone used this for wood work, is it up to the job?

12-Volt Lithium-Ion 3/8 in. Cordless Drill/Driver with 2-Battery is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great drill Battery life is great , light weight and small to get into tight places, has plenty of power , and the additional battery is great so you can keep working when the first battery needs recharging. This is the second drill of this kind we have bought .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A light duty all purpose drill driver I asked before buying if this would drive screws into solid wood, and the answer was yes. I should have been more specific in my question. It can drive small screws into wood, but cannot drive 2 1/2" screws into a solid log. I needed to assemble a cat tree. It got the screws in much farther than the electric screwdrive, but couldn't get them in the last 1/4 inch. I ended up borrowing a heftier drill/driver from a friend to finish the job. When I lived in a 1920's apartment in Brookline, the baseboard+paneling wood was like iron. This drill wouldn't have made a dent in that stuff. I'm in a more modern place now, so it's worth keeping this around for smaller household jobs. It can probably drive thru wallboard into a stud with no problem. I'll be able to use it as an all-in-one instead of dragging out the old drill and the electric screwdriver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this drill If I were a professional and wanted a really heavy-duty drill, I probably would get something different. I've used this a bunch in the couple of weeks that I have owned it so far, and been very happy. Having two batteries, so that when one runs out I can quickly change and continue working is a huge benefit. A problem that someone had with it not gripping on a standard drill is NOT an experience I had. The manual tells how to tighten the chuck. When I did it that way I had no problems at all. I had a helper on one of my projects. He is used to professional tools. He was impressed with the performance of this drill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable! I was blown away by the punch this little guy packs. I bought this as a kit kit with saw and 2 batteries for $44 from HD. It drives 3" screws without breaking a sweat. used it all day without having to install the other battery. It's light weight and easy to work with. This thing was so good I bought another kit just for the batteries. I have a variety of power tools and feel the dewalts,, makitas, etc.. are overrated. I'm sure they are all made in the same foreign factories.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT DRILL FROM B&D HIGHLY RECOMENDED I am a tv repair man i bought this drill to remove phillp head screws from the back of tv's and reinstall them. it feels very well balanced and does a good job. it has a touge adjustment which is great to. it also has a keyless chuck and i find that the battery lasts a long time before it needs to be charged. its powerfull enough for the jobs i need it for. mine came with 2 batteries. price was very reasoniable around $70.00 it feels sturdy and i am very pleased infact i might buy another one to keep in the car.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Things Come in Small Packages This 12-volt drill is compact, relatively light, and well constructed. The fact that it comes with 2 lithium batteries is a big plus. It's a great variable-speed all-purpose drill for your everyday needs and has great torque for it's size. I would have given it a full 5 stars if it had come in its own case. It's a 5-star drill with no place to sleep.
