Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice This mower literally snapped together. I was amazed. The best way to describe using it is similar to a vacuum cleaner on thick carpet. It works. The best thing is that the mower is light enough to float over the grass and not leave the wheel marks that are so visible on the grass from heavier mowers. Point of ease: start closest to your outlet and work your way away from it. Then, you won't have to deal with the power cord getting in the way. April 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Light weight, easy to handle As an older single female without much upper body strength I decided I would get an electric corded lawn mower to do touch-ups in between lawn service to save having to have lawn pro cut so often. This one is perfect. I had to have help putting the clipping container together and even a strong man had to grunt a little to get the plastic to clip together. At least I am pretty sure it will not fall apart. I love that the clipping container is plastic and very easy to clean out with a hose. the overall weight is very light compared to big gas model I used to have. Other pros are: No trips to gas station to get fuel No cords to pull, simple push button and pull lever to turn on No Fumes or contamination to air One Con: Instructions show a way to make the handle shorter, those holes are non existent, I am 5'4" and the handle is a bit high for me. Not a big deal but would have been nice to have it be shorter. April 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Black & Decker EM1700 We finally had to replace our old Black & Decker lawn mower of 15 years. Great find and the pricing was even better. We cut our grass once a week and now with this new electric lawn mower it is much more easy to do our weekly landscaping. I would recommend this to anyone that has a medium size lawn. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Electric mowers have come a long way Purchased the 1st gen electric mower from B&D back in 1999 and it was ok. It was underpowered and the handle was quite awkward. It would take 1 hour to mower our 1/3 of an acre but it was reliable and it never failed. This summer 2014, it finally died and I replaced it with this one. What a difference! This has a very comfortable handle, very easy to push, and has lots of power. I did leave off the catcher and that made it much easier to walk behind as I could take longer strides. I would highly recommend this mower with the caveat that I don't really mind if the grass isn't cut picture perfect level and I keep the mower height at the maximum height. October 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great mower for a woman and a small yard I have never mowed my own yard, much less put a mower together. I found this one pretty easy to assemble and very easy to use. The instructions were good with respect to how to mow and manage the cord. My only issue is the grass collector. I'm glad it has one but I find it a little awkward to get off the mower when it's full (it's heavy and you have to maneuver around the handles). If I had more muscles this might not be an issue :-). Overall, really pleased and it does a good job. April 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money; not worth a single star. This piece of pure plastic junk reminds me of a toy lawnmower I purchased at Toys R Us for my nephew one Christmas. It's mostly plastic, including the wheels (which are very small) and the lever which adjusts the cutting height. The handle on the easy access clippings basket (which looks like a cat transporter) keeps coming off when you want to empty the contents. The cutting width is only 17 inches and that makes more work. If Home Depot had it on display in the store, I would never have purchased it. As it was, I ordered it in the store and on-line. The salesperson said Black and Decker brand was better than the HomeLite it was replacing. No way. Waste of money. I'll never order on-line again. May 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Lightweight Mower The mower wasn't too difficult to put together, but the screws are the kind that like to strip out, so be careful of that. The mower is super light, so it's great for hillside mowing and the grass catcher has a handle that makes it easy to dump and put back in place. I've had a few B&D electric mowers in the past, but this one is an obvious improvement. April 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Mower The 17" Walk Behind Electric Mower is an excellent mower. Love the rear bagging function so close mowing can be done from both sides. The hard shell bag has a decent capacity and easily attaches / detaches for emptying. Cut height is the easiest adjustment I have ever seen on a mower and clearly marked cut heights are nice for no guess work cut height. The composite frame material is lighter than a metal frame and weather resistant. My old mower had rusted through so badly that the wheel mounts fell off while I was cutting my lawn. Being 6'-5" tall I really like the tall handle height. Ease of motion, ease of emptying. Ease of maintainence. What's not to love? I would reccomend this mower to anyone looking for a quality electric lawnmower. May 26, 2015
