Yes, however I used mine primarily for a 10 foot tree. You might find it easier to us with the extender because it gives you better leverage.

Answer:
yes - you can also buy an extra battery which is somewhat expensive. My battery seems to have plenty of life for the cutting I need. (I have two houses and two cutters plus a gas cutter)

pole length is fixed. Specs on the cutter will show length. Since head is adjustable the length seems to be right for all my trimming. I use a small step ladder for high stuff

Usually long enough to trim all I want that day or until I get tired. Maybe one hour of nearly constant cutting but I never had concerns. It works for me on two large yards.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 110 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Performs as expected I bought this to reach certain hedges I couldn't reach with any of my other trimmers without a ladder. It does just that. As I expected, all the weight is in the cutting head so it can be awkward to use when reaching out or overhead, but manageable. The head pivot feature is very useful. The head and pivot joint is made of plastic and I feel like it will not stand up to a lot of abuse, but you get what you pay for. I consider this a specialty tool meant for reaching hedges that would otherwise require use of a ladder. For that it is worth the money. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pole Hedge Trimmer Excellent hedge and tree trimmer. The unit is well balanced and the battery was sufficient to trim my trees and hedges with one charge. July 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cordless Pole Trimmer Works great but I thought the pole would be adjustable and lighter. Puts a strain on your neck and arms. I would rather use a ladder with the regular cordless hedge trimmer July 17, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It burned up after using it a few times in the first two weeks Started off ok, but after using it a few times, during the first two weeks, I saw a puff of white smoke, and smelled wires burning. I took it to a service center, and they are returning it to Black & Decker. June 28, 2016
